The good: a huge screen (seven inches), the internet connection is great, the speakers are highly impressive and definitely loud enough without being distorted, the battery life is sufficient, the on screen keyboard has a great response time, very customizable appearance, the charger comes with a converter so if the user travels to different countries the player can be used, the player can be plugged in to a tv.
The bad: poor response time for web pages (it takes me more than a couple of clicks to access web pages), despite having a wi-fi connection the browser has to be purchased for 30 dollars to access the internet, plug ins have to be purchased for certain video files to be played, despite being flash compatible, some web sites don't show up that need flash access, the hard drive capacity doesn't go a very long way in my experience.
Although this isn't a perfect MP3 player, I'm overall satisfied with it.

Cool idea but not following through... Bought this for the WiFi capability but found out that I Have to buy a plug in ($30.00) for a browser. another Plug in to watch movies ($20.00) and was not happy about that. DON'T BUY.. I'm returning mine and getting a net book! Same price but more things to do plus a keyboard.

I bought this to use as a MP3 player.It is really large for that purpose. It is really cool, but just not what I needed. A little hard to use as far as downloading games. Putting music and photos was very easy.Never could figure out how to put TV shows and movies. I ended up taking it back to my local Wal- Mart, just because it isn't pocket portable.Not so easy to wash dishes and listen to headphones on this.

As stated in previous posts, this device is everything it's cracked up to be and then some! Like any new electronic device, the 705 takes getting use to, and it's farely simple. Once you have adjusted to the OS and general operation of the device you will find yourself immersed in a media experience 2nd to none! This product is a wonder and a joy to operate. Archos' Portal site offers free music and videos! Imagine that, FREE! I would highly recommend any, if not all, the Plug-ins that are available for $9-$29 each to enhance your media experience. So far (have had the device 6 days) the only down side this device has: it does not fit in your pocket and no Bluetooth. That aside, what a great picture! I purchased the car seat case and my grandson can watch his favorite Disney shows in DVD quality! Keeps him occupied, no " Are we there yet?" TGF TV! Only kidding... Great way to spend your Economic Stimulus check!

Has a few quirks, but a nice unit. 7" display is great for movies. Biggest gripe is the fact that in order to enable many of the features, additional modules or hardware must be purchased.
I bought this to use as a remote display for a camera - works great for my use except that the pinout on the 3.5mm video connector is not standard to most video camera's, and an adapter must be used to join the suppled cable to the cable on my camera.
Battery life is fair considering the large display.
Wi-fi range is fairly poor, and download speeds are slow.

ahh the 705 is a nice product. enough memory for everything you need very easy to use everything is self explanatory plays movies music everything is nice and organized the plugins should come with it though (net, mulitmedia) umm if you're thinking about buying one don't hesitate to buy it. you wont regret it. have a nice day :)
