The Lifetime 1533 Portable Basketball Hoop includes a high-impact 44" acrylic backboard and black classic rim. The heavy-duty, portable courtside base can be filled with water or sand for extra stability and rolled to the set location. The Quick Adjust II feature of this basketball system allows you to make height adjustments at six different levels. The black 44" acrylic fusion backboard comes with Blow-Molded High-Density Polyethylene Frame and playing surface with UV-protected, fade-resistant graphics. I purchased this product as a birthday gift for my son, who turned 17. He and his 6-year old brother play on it daily. Good product, fairly easy to assemble. be sure to follow the instructions step by step!

Great goal for kids and most adults

I think that this goal is very nice. It did have some confusing instructions at some points in it. It's really good for practicing your free throws and 2 and 3 point shots, I would not recommend doing dunks because its not a brake a way rim. Takes some time to assemble though it took around 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the two of us. I would highly recommend this product to other people looking for a intermediate basketball goal. I would recommend using water instead of sand cause if you use sand you have to buy quite a bit which could cost some more money, but if you just use water from the water hose then it should be up and ready to use in no time. I found that it was the same type of goal as the one at my local Walmart, but this goal was about $40 cheaper online, so I made a good deal on this basketball goal. PLEASE NOTE IF BUYING: make sure you have tools to assemble this goal because the Walmart website is misleading when it says "no tools required", this goal requires many different wrenches.

I ordered online and did ship to store with text alerts. First text said I would receive a text within three hours to notify me when I could pick it up. Twenty minutes later got second text saying I could pick it up. Showed an ID to pick up and was very easy. No junk texts or anything since which is great. Great customer service. My brother had the whole thing done in less than 45 minutes so assembly wasn't wasn't bad at all. Really easy to adjust the height. The kids really love it! The quality looks great and looks like it will last a long time.

Great for our kids...not for serious older players. Seems to be very good quality. It was difficult for 2 of us to assemble...but then we're not very good at such things. The instructions are basically drawings without written explanations which would have been helpful. I felt we did each step twice. First we would do a step...then disassemble that step...then do it correctly. It took us a long time to put it together, but it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, so we enjoyed it anyway, and we love having the basket, and more importantly...our grandchildren (ages 7 to 9) love it even more. GOOD PRODUCT...just needs clearer assembly instructions.

We bought this for our 6 and 9 year old boys. It is perfect for them for the size and their ability to play. Eventually we will grow into a full size one. So far lots of hours of play for them and the adults :)

Good Product but Co. Needs to Improve!

The ordering (item # 1533) went smoothly and it was delivered to my doorstep for free. I mistakenly thought some parts were missing (I apologized later) but my call to Lifetime's Customer Service 1-800 # revealed a SERIOUS FLAW. They are not connected to Walmart, so providing them my name, address or Walmart order # meant nothing to them. And so, in this age of electronic marvels, they required I email them the Walmart email confirmation before sending me the part. I found it in my email's "Junk Mail". I thought this was shameful on their part. As I told them: I purchased this for my 6 yr old g-son and why the heck would I make this call to request such a part? Nevertheless, I received the same bureaucratic response- 'We need the Walmart confirmation or else we cannot ship the part.' Fortunately for me and my g-son, I found that part- my fault not theirs.
Overall, if you are a scientist or studious person you'll probably do fine. I'm not, yet I eventually was successful, but it really tested my skills and patience!
The Users Guide has several flaws. The lining-up of the 2 support arms to the post can fray your nerves! Why didn't they make they assembly process more assembly-friendly? e.g.- I have no clue why they identified parts by 3 letters. Also, when assembling the backboard supports, the Guide failed to say that you should first line-up both "ADQs" before tightening the "APKs" to the "AACs".
One other glitch I found is inserting sand into the base. I cannot imagine a more difficult and tedious task. The base has 2 VERY SMALL PORTSs and the Guide's diagram tells me they have NOT tested it; it does not work as shown in the Guide.
On the other hand, I'm thrilled that this is a MADE IN THE USA product, and if they correct the glitches and go the extra mile to make the Customer Service interaction more user-friendly this company could become quite renown.
It took me about 6 hours to assemble to over about 5 days. I'm a busy person despite my age...P.S.- I'm in very good health, but if you don't exercise every day or have a back condition you should get a person with a strong back to help!!!!

Other reviews made me consider more expensive products. After setting it up and watching my kids play, I am glad I did not spend more. Difficult to set up. Instructions are POOR but not impossible. It is a two person job. Use sand in the base. Water will leak out.

I purchased this basketball goal about 1 week ago and we love it so far! It was simple for my friend and I to put together. It took us 2 days, working a few hours each day, to get it finished. I'm sure it wouldn't take as long for a guy to put it together though! Very great product for the price!

This goal is just right for our budget and needs! It has great quality and features and for under $150 you can't go wrong. My son is 8 years old and loves it at 9'6" which is just low enough that he can still make shots, and still high enough that adults can shoot without much adjustment to their shooting motion as compared to a 10 foot goal. The instructions were a little odd being that all pieces were labeled in the instructions but not physically so I had to continually familiarize myself with exactly which pieces were being put together at each step, but shouldn't take anyone more than an hour or so to get set up.

I read the reviews before purchasing and most of the negative feedback was due to the instructions and setup of the goal. I found it to be fairly easy to put together and the goal is great for younger kids especially give the cost. You will want to fill the base with water or sand or the goal will tip over fairly easy.

I purchased this for my young son who is playing on his first organized team this year. This is a good quality product for the price/purpose, but adults playing aggressively would break it rather quickly. Also, believe the instructions when it says you will need another person to help you during certain phases of assembly. Additionally, you will need a flat table or workbench for proper assembly. That was a surprise to me and made things harder/longer to assemble than it needed to be. Not every tool that you need to assemble are provided. You will need a basic mechanics toolkit with metric wrenches. Although not called for in the instructions, a socket set with extensions is just about required in my opinion as well.

Read all the reviews before I ordered it. was worried that it would not have all the parts as per other reviews but for the price I thought I would try. It was very easy to assembly. All the parts were here and the directions were easy to understand. Had it assembled in about an hour. I bought it for mu 5 year old son that started basketball this year so he can practice at home. Now we have all his friends playing on it as well. No complaints.

I think this is a good basketball goal once put together. The instructions are horrible and not clear at all. One of the main screws/bolts did not fit and I had to go out and purchase another one on my own. More clearer instructions need to be included with this product.

Received the product in just a few days, so I was pleased about the shipping time.
The basketball system was purchased for my 19 year old son. It was easy to assemble but the wheels are so cheap that my son placed a sand bag on top of the base instead of filling it since he is afraid the base/wheels will break if he tries to roll it with the heavy sand. It might be ok if the system could be left in one place but the homeowners association requires that it be out of sight when not in use.
