We bought this furniture, the Canopy 5-drawer dresser and two matching end tables, for a guest room. For years we had mismatched furniture, and when we painted, we decided to buy furniture. It is so well thought out and planned, that within 2-3 hours, you have beautiful bedroom furniture. The drawers are ash or white pine, all predrilled and ready to assemble. They work beautifully, absolutely stable, smooth gliding and quiet. We are very happy with our purchase and have a beautiful bedroom suite. We needed a queen size headboard to go with this set and chose the Madison Headboard. It, too, was a quality product, easy to attach and lovely in our guest room and looked beautiful with the Canopy set. Nicely done Canopy and Walmart!

We were expecting a good product, but what we received was great! We were very proud of the quality of the dresser. It was easy to put together and everything fit very well. We needed 4 of them for our children, but just ordered one to make sure we liked it. We will be ordering the additional three and possibly more pieces soon.

My husband and I bought matching his-and-her dressers and we love them. The drawers are large enough to stack three pair of jeans, three across.

This is a great buy! Very good quality. It will take two people to get the front and back pieces onto the side pieces, but other than that, I did it myself. Very heavy when delivered. It will take two people to get it inside. It is larger than I thought, so I was pleased with that. So many dressers I was looking at prior to this one were small and looked really cheap. Not this one. I am very pleased with it.

It took a little longer for in store delivery than initially stated, but once I got it and all put together I was very pleased. Yes. I was able to do it by myself. I put the first four big pieces together by laying it on the bed. Careful with the drawers though- I put one together with the sliding latches in the back instead of the front, so I had to take it all apart and do that drawer again. No problem though - it still looks fantastic. YEA ME!

This chest of drawers is a high quality with ball bearing glides (spray the glides with silicone), it's very heavy and really nice looking. Putting it together went well as long as you follow the directions step by step; we set up everything in the order suggested and it came out perfect. We also ordered the night stands and for the money, you can't go wrong.

I have furnished most of my home with Canopy furniture, and I must say, that this is probably one of the most difficult pieces to assemble. My husband and I worked together to assemble it and the frame was actually more complex than the drawers. We put the drawers together in a matter of minutes but it was locking the front, rear and side frames that gave us the flux. One of the added advantages is that the legs have levelers which allows you adjust the chest so that it is balanced on the floor space where it is placed. All in all, the end result is another beautiful canopy furniure piece!

High hopes that crashed and burned

I was so excited to get this dresser because it seemed like it would look great in my daughter's room. However, like other reviewers, we encountered some warped wood right off the bat that prevented us from getting past the first step. I do not like how this dresser involves sliding pieces together where they need to attach in three different spots (why not just screw together like a normal dresser?). It's challenging with wood that isn't warped, and when it is, it's impossible. We weren't going to try and "fix" it somehow (don't know how we would have), and after messing with it for quite a while, I just decided to return the whole thing and forget it rather than try and get a new part that wouldn't be warped (and hope that there weren't other problems). I was extremely disappointed and would advise you to avoid this dresser at all costs!

sturdy dresser, difficult assembly

The dresser looks nice and is fairly sturdy. In theory this dreeser should be very easy to assemble but it is not. The front and back do not line up easily. We (definatly need at least 2 people)spent an hour just trying to match the back with the sides. We finally matched the front piece with the sides first and then--right before I was about to send for new pieces because they seemed to have been manufactures incorrectly--they slid together. PLEASE Canopy rectify this situation! Get your designers and engineers together and find a solution--I would give this dresser 10 stars if it had been easier to assemble.

This is a very sturdy, real wood dresser, that looks just as good, if not better than the picture. Was packed very well. That was actually a big part of the assembly time...just unpacking it. Assembly was pretty easy. Probably only difficult because some of the pieces are heavy. It ends up being every bit as nice as something you would buy in a furniture store. Love it.

This dresser is awesome. We thought we would give it a try and liked it so much we bought 2 more. Solid construction and looks great!! We have other dressers that we paid $600 plus for and this one is larger and just as sturdy if not more.

After reading some of the reviews (after I bought the dressers and night stands) I worried that it was going to be too hard to put together but I was pleasantly surprised. Of two dressers, one side had a little bow to it but with a little elbow grease and common sense I got it. I did have help for the front, back and two sides to get it all lined up. One of the drawers sides was twisted also but again, with a little ingenuity, it came together just fine. I got two put together in an afternoon. They look great, feel pretty solid. My only complaint is that the dresser drawers aren't very deep but I knew that from the description.

This is a really nice dresser - good quality and looks great. The drawers are made with dovetail joints held together with nails. My only recommendation would be to also glue the joints to create a superb product. I love this dresser and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again.

We bought two of these dressers. We had trouble getting the front to fit onto one of them, but after a little prodding, it fit together well. The second chest went together easily. I think the finish is really nice. It looks rich and expensive. (I have pieces in the mahagony finish which I don't like as well.) The drawers glide smoothly. One note: one of the two dressers has a noticeable flaw in the wood on the backside. I have the chests against the wall so that is no problem for me, but it could be a problem for someone who wanted to use the dresser in a different position.

You can't beat what you get at this price. No, it's not "custom-made", but it is very well constructed, and easy to assemble. There are small 1/4" braces midway on the underside of the drawers, which should make a difference in keeping the drawers from sagging (which is why I had to replace my 12-yr old Sauder chest of drawers). The directions were very plain, and easy to understand, a hammer/rubber mallet being the only tool needed (and the help of a friend is a good idea). I suppose the downsides were that 2 of the pieces (the back panel, & one of the drawer side panels) were mildly warped (which probably would've been replaced by the company if I'd requested), & the pins could've been just a "wee-bit" longer. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the value at this price.

I purchased this dresser for my spare bedroom and the picture that it showes does not do it any justice. It is absolutely beautiful. My husband & I put it together in about 30 minutes. Very easy to assemble & all the parts were there in the box. Drawers slide very easy. It is very heavy so you might want 2 men to load & lift, if your a woman.

We purchased two of these dressers for our 8-year-old twin sons. These dressers are an amazing value for their price. All wood drawers, very spacious and deep, and sturdier than most dressers that we looked at that were twice the cost. I have a hard time believing they are a Wal-Mart product. They look more like they are from Pottery Barn.
We had one dresser that was a breeze to put together. The second one was a little more difficult, but once we created our own little "fix" it was fine!
We have some IKEA dressers with MDF slats on the bottoms of the drawers, and the bottoms are constantly sliding out and causing gaps in the drawers.... These Canopy drawers are awesome... so sturdy, that I do not see that being a problem.
