I bought this cause I really wanted a steam mop and I like the bissell brand. I was expecting it to work like other steam mops and steam the floor not soak it but upon using it I discovered it doesnt leave the floor dry like other mops claim they are supposed to. In fact it leaves it wetter than my swiffer mop does. It does get stuck on dirt and food off the floor very well so I dont have to scrub, but it leaves the floor very saturated after. i do still use it every time i have stuck on dirt and food in my kitchen but generally i stick to my swiffer mop for the every day cleaning. if u want to spend the money on a steam mop i would only get this one if you cant afford the more expensive ones.

The mop stopped making steam halfway through its first use. I bought this mop to replace a Shark mop because Consumer Reports gave it good ratings. I took it back and got another Shark.

I'm really lazy that rare to mop my floor, now I enjoy to operate this steam mop to clear my kitchen floor. it is easy to handle and I don't feel tired after mop all over the place of the house. by the way, I can save my money to buy the other solution because of I just fill water in the steam mop. so far it is best steam mop I ever use.

This product is a good concept, we wish to keep the tile floors clean with less effort. This product produced hot water for one use, then failed to operate ever again. The product support effort is massive trying to get the item replaced or repaired. It is not worth the price of the item spending hours trying to get some attention. Meanwhile, we are on our knees.....

I have a bad back and mopping was always such a chore. The hot steam of this mop does all the work, killing germs and cleaning w/o the need of scrubbing. It requires no soap, so saves you money too. Just be careful it's secure when you set it down; mine fell over and I cracked the plastic part that holds the water. It leaks a tiny bit, at the crack, but it still works thank goodness!

Used it twice and so far it had worked well. I have a Bissell carpet shampooer that has worked well for years. This is why I decided on this steam mop plus the $10 rebate.

Makes Floors Sopping Wet

I bought this to replace my Shark which broke within a year. This particular machine got rave reviews so I purchased it at Walmart. It was easy to put together, and looks and feels great.. very sturdy. I loved how easy it was to fill the water reservoir.
However, when I use it, it leaves PUDDLES behind. Water literally drips out of this machine, and the water reservoir leaks while using it too, adding to the drips on the floor. I have to go behind it with several microfiber clothes to clean as I go.
I don't know if I got a lemon and should return it for a different one or what. Or perhaps I shouldn't be holding the trigger down, but if I don't hold it down, no "steam" would come out, making this just another wet mop. So what's the point?
I still use it because I have tile floors and the water it leaves behind won't affect them, however, if you have hardwood floors, beware. This machine could ruin them.

I read many reviews about continuous steam models. Most of the reviews were bad . So I choose this one because it released steam by trigger only .. This is a big mistake. I found myself having to hold the trigger down constantly. I feel this will burn the pump out fast. I also was not impressed with the amount of steam it released. I could still feel the dirty grime on the floor on my bare feet. The floors did not have that fresh clean feel under my feet. I will be returning this and getting a continuous steam mop .

I was SO EXCITED when the Bissell Steam Mop arrived, BUT THE EXCITEMENT WORE OFF VERY QUICKLY. When I opened the box, I found it to be Lightweight and compact, which I needed. HOWEVER, the first issue was when I discovered there weren't any directions in or on the box for the machine. That negligence caused me a lot of frustration when trying to get the proper directions to solve the problems ahead. The next issue is with the operation quality of the machine. It does heat and steam up fairly quickly, however it leaves POOLS OF WATER all over the floors. WHAT A MESS! So of course then I must take a towel and on my knees, hand-dry all of the floors. Plus, the water container is rather small, so must be refilled/reheated over and over again. NONE OF THIS IS WHAT I EXPECTED OR PAID FOR! THEREFORE, I WILL BE RETURNING THE BISSELL STEAM MOP TO WALMART THIS WEEK! MY WORD OF ADVICE IS DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!!

Very fast shipping and 2 screws later I was ready to mop, very impressed with the steam heat and performance of this mop, just know that if you have little ones or dirty husbands you will probably want to use both cleaning pads a definite plus that they are washable. I am ashamed to say my floors were much dirtier than I thought and I just mopped the old way yesterday. I used it on linoleum and laminate wood floors and would absolutely recommend this to all.

I spent a lot of time reviewing and researching. Now that I've had this item for a few weeks, I believe I have chosen the best one for me. I was not one of those people who believe that a mop will sanitize so my children can eat off the floor. I just wanted to replace my mop and bucket without spending a ton of money.
Here was the main criteria that made me go with the green tea over others (the other one that I was back and forth on was the Eureka Enviro):
-removable, large water tank: I didn't want to keep up with a funnel or have to bend down. To fill the head of the thing. with this one I simply pull the tank off of the mop, fill it up, and slide it back on. the tank is big enough to truly last about twenty minutes or so. I do not have to refill the tank to finish mopping.
-instant heat: It takes about 10 seconds to heat up.
-steam trigger. This allows you to maneuver the mop without steam constantly streaming out to conserve water.
-Low profile rotating head: it easily fits under my cabinets, swivels around the toilet, and gets close to the staircase.

things that I was expecting to not like so much on this model:

One of the features that I like, that I didn't really think about is the water filter. I still use distilled water, but it's nice to have something in place to prevent the calcium build up that I tend to get on my iron. My filter was damaged when I received it, but I called the warranty people and they had a new one to my door in about 48 hours!
Overall, I am very pleased with the product. I have not had a need to use my mop and bucket since I received the Bissell green tea. It lives up to the expectations that I bought it for, and the things that I thought I had to "settle" for turned out not to be that much of a hastle after all. It is quick to set up, very easy to use, and effectively cleans my floor.

Not what I had hoped for

I bought this product hoping that it would make it easier to mop. The main reason why I purchased it was because I thought that it would be easier than using my Hoover hard floor cleaner since the Hoover is a pain to clean up when you're finished using it. The Hoover did a much better job cleaning versus the steam mop. After I had finished using the steam mop, the floor looked like it was smeared all over and didn't look clean. To me the old fashion type of mop does a better job than this product does. I think though if you used it on a daily basis it may not be as bad, however for someone who mops once a week I wouldn't have high hopes for it.

Worst steam mop ever

I decided to buy the Bissell steam mop after reading so many good reviews about it, but I'm very disappointed to say the least. The Bissell steam mop is very light and easy to use, however, it left my floor so wet that I had to use a towel to dry the floor. Once dried, the floor had lots of streaks and marks. When I removed the pad, it was completly soaked. The purpose of buying a steam mop was to clean the floor with steam, not with wet cloth. I also thought it would save me time cleaning the floor, but I ended up wasting extra time just to dry the floor. I don't understand how anyone could have had good experience with this steam mop.

It takes several passes over an area to remove sticky/ground in dirt. Steam doesn't seem hot enough. So bottom line, I've tried 3 different steamers, and have come to the conclusion, that I will go back to the conventional way, that is, scrubbing the tile and applying the wood floor cleaner/applicator that I received when floor was installed
