I have had many carpet cleaners in the past, but mostly Bissell's, so I was exploring what I thought to be better options. I really did like my Bissell, but after moving into our two story home I need a hose attachment as mine did not have one. Anyway I was very excited to bring home my new Hoover and get to work. After putting it together I realize just how heavy it was and I could not even take it upstairs on my own. The second thing I did not like about it was to use the hose you have to go through a lot of steps that many other cleaners do not have. I literally to this day could not hook up the hose on my own my husband has to do it. When cleaning the stairs I realized that this machine do not squirt the water very well so it took forever to get the steps done. The two tank feature is wonderful, I really did like that about this machine. After about 10 months of owning this beast of a carpet cleaner EVERYTHING started going bad. The brushes stopped spinning, the springs started shooting off of it, and the cleaner started mixing with the water. I wish I never wasted my money on this. When I replace it I will be going back to Bissell because they are a familiar company to me and when I had any problem with their machines they helped fix the problem. Don't waste your money on a Hoover when you can get great results for half the price.

Review 2 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
I have used this product before purchasing it and was glad to see performed as anticipated. I also couldn't pass up the deal that Walmart ran of a free spot vacuum with purchase. Upon opening the unit, I was however discouraged to find evidence it had previously been used. There was dirt around the gasket fittings and the yellow 'full tank' indicator. I refrained from returning it because I needed to use it day-of to clean some carpet and my local store does not carry this for exchange.
This is a good product, but do be careful with it, as most of the components are plastic.

Excellent carpet cleaner. Used to have a Bissel Proheat 2x and I like this Hoover one more. It does a better job of cleaning the carpets and the suction pulls up a lot of water thus reducing the dry time.

Review 4 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
If you are buying this for carpet only it's ok other than the fact it leaks all over the place every time you change the tanks. I have hardwood floors and when cleaning rigs it leaked on the wood floor and discolored it. The hardwood cleaning was pitiful too (uses different cleaning solution and did not harm floor) the snap on squeegee doesn't stay on and the suction head pushes all the water backwards so when you pull it back you end up with a giant puddle that you have to maneuver around and push the machine over forward to get it up. The design is horrible. You have to attach the hose each time you want to use it (other brands you simply turn a dial) where the hose winds it gets in the way of the electrical cord and when u wind that cord differently it gets in the way of the tanks. There are 2 tanks instead of 1 tank integrated into clean water bladder inside the dirty water tank like other machines. All in all I absolutely would NOT purchase this again and may even take it back for a different machine.

Review 5 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
I had an older model Hoover carpet cleaner. It worked OK but lately I have been hiring a professional company to get my caprets really clean (we have a dog and 2 kids). Since professional cleaners get pricey, I decided to invest in the F7452900. Consumer Reports rated it as the best! I am not disappointed. Even the 10+ year old carpet in my teenage son's room was white again. He even texted me when he got home from school asking why the house was sooooo cleeeean. I highly recommend this carpet cleaner. The cleaning solution that came with it works best; I had another bottle of Hoover pet cleaner but it didn't work quite as well.

I have used many carpet cleaners but I like this one the best. I have no trouble of filling or emptying. I had cleaned 2 rooms in less time that it took by using other cleaners and it dried in less time I enjoyed using the Hoover.

Review 7 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
Absolutely thrilled with the customer service involved with this order. I cancelled my original purchase through Sears due to their total lack of professionalism in handling the order & I'm STILL waiting on a refund! Not only did I receive my cleaner from Walmart in a timely manner but have already used it on a rug that got automotive oil stains on it in several places (ugh!) & it came out beautiful! Very pleased so far & looking forward to the results on hard wood & tile floors next. I purchased the extended warranty as well, just in case I have any problems down the line. Sears didn't even offer the extended warranty with my original purchase. All in all, I am very pleased so far with this purchase. Thanks so much to everyone who followed through with my order from start to finish without a flaw. KUDOS to you all! That's what customer service is all about & that kind of care will keep your doors open for many years to come while other stores are closing theirs & wondering why! Great job guy's! Thanks again!

Review 8 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
I had this model for several years. While it cleaned well, it started leaking (when the unit was off after use) about 6 mos. after purchase. When it died - the brushes stopped working, I bought a replacement of the same model - the old one did clean well and considering it is used once a week, had a decent life span. But the new unit leaked from day one. And from the same place. Because of the leaking problem, I would not recommend this unit. I will try a Bissell next time.

Review 9 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
The hose caddie kept falling off the back...very annoying. I used it on our hard floors one time...seemed to be fine. Then I needed to clean the stairs. First, attaching the hose was frustrating and confusing. But the worst part was that the water barely trickled out of the end of the hose attachment. I tried many different things...not much helped. I finally just took it back and purchased another Bissell...that was less expensive and works without a problem (and I didn't need an instruction book to figure out how to use the hose attachment!)
I bought this for my mom because she wanted to clean her carpets. Its a little bit on the heavy side but does an amazing job cleaning I went over some soda and dog urine stains and it completely removed them.

It work great on my carpet and tile floors. I have not used the hand held cleaner yet but expect it is just as good as main unit itself.

My Father purchased 3 of these cleaners for myself and my 2 sisters as a gift. All 3 of us have had issues with it. All something different but non the less, a total waste of money. Worked pretty good the first time I used it.... Second time was a total mess. appears to have a foam gasket which is torn and floating in what little water was in the waste tank. Very little suction. The remaining water...is saturated in my carpet! I am NOT a happy consumer and will have to drive an hour to return this disappointment so that I can try to get a different one. Hopefully, the extreme water has not damaged my carpet, pad and flooring :-( I have an extremely bad back and It was not fun towel sponging the carpet. I highly doubt that I will be buying a hoover again.

Review 13 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
I have used this machine several times and it has worked extremely well. The carpets are very clean and the machine sucks up almost all the water. Carpets are almost dry afterwards. To this point, I would recommend this carpet cleaner.

Review 14 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
I'm writing this review after having used this machine only one time. This is what I can tell you about it: I chose this model because it was rated #1 with consumer reports. I however have nothing to compare it to; this is the first one I've ever used or owned. The clean and dirty water tanks seem big but it doesn't take long to empty the clean and fill the dirty. It's simple to fill the clean tank and the cleaning solution has a separate compartment. It's also simple to empty the dirty water tank. It's loud. It drips a little bit of water after using it. You can't quite get to the very edges of your carpet with the machine but there are attachments that look like they would work well for edges. I haven't used the attachments yet. The cord to plug it in isn't very long (as compared to my vacuum). It's kind of heavy to carry but surprisingly easy to clean with. I was pleased with how well it cleaned my carpets.

Review 15 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
Decided to purchase a rug cleaner rather than rent one and this was a good choice. It did a great job cleaning and there was minimal wetness on the carpet after going over the areas a few times. Dries pretty quickly. Haven't tried it on other flooring but that's the next test. The hand tool and hose are great for getting under the shelves in the closets and for the stairs. I thought it was going through too much shampoo until I spoke to Hoover customer service and found out the concentrated solution needed to be diluted. Must have missed that on the bottle.

Review 16 for Hoover Max Extract All-Terrain Carpet Washer, F7452900
First time I used it was to clean the carpet in a 5x7 ft closet. Went over it once with the soap/rinse then with just the rinse and both during which I had to empty the dirty water tank several times. It was disgusting what I poured out! It was the grossest smelly thick liquid with a three inch stratified layer of sediment at the bottom of the tank. I couldn't believe how much this machine brought up out of just a closet. Can't wait to use it on all my carpet that gets heavy traffic. I bought the extra warranty just as insurance since I have seen various reviews about this and other Hoover cleaner modals breaking down. I hope I don't need it, because its a great carpet cleaner! Totally blows away my old Bissell.

I had a similar Hoover Dual V carpet cleaner for years and loved it. When I finally had to replace it, I did my research and was delighted to find the Hoover Dual V Max Extract F745900 was still rated high. You do have to be careful removing the water/cleaner tank as it has a tendency to leak when it is removed. But that is minor when you have a carpet cleaner that does such a good job of cleaning.

This steam cleaner was great on the carpet, tile and hardwood. But the con was its poor attachments due to it not having a controlled spray and lack of suction wetting to much surface area.
