Toasts very well. Quite large for small space (which I have). A little difficult to clean, top has indented grooves, which are difficult to clean. Great toaster!

This toaster takes me back to the thirties, when superb quality often came at bargain prices. It couldn't be better! The shade adjustments are right on target, producing even toasting over each slice, even straight from the freezer using the FROZEN function button. The white exterior is attractive and cool to the touch. Easy, prompt, and courteous in-store delivery. All this for just a little over $20, including tax. Fantastic!

Very pleased with this toaster. Not only is it is wide enough for bagels, it will toast just the open side and warm the opposite side. Attractive housing. The only thing I do not like is the unusually short cord which is a problem in my kitchen.

On the positive side: It's a wide slot simple and good looking toaster with less bells and wistles than it is needed for the toasters. It has only separate buttons for "bagel", "frozen", and "cancel" functions and for adjustment of heat/time. Those which is needed for a simple toaster with a good price. You can also empty old bread crums from the sliding end slot at the bottom of the toaster.
On the negative side: It finishes toasting with a loader slapping noise than it normally should (so if someone at home is yet sleep you can hear other person's toaster's sound!). The connection cord is also a bit too short. So Black & Decker should have thought about manufacturing it with a softer sound touch and a longer cord, in case you want to place it a bit away from the outlet. Also while the toaster itself is plastic the metal siding around the bread/toast will still remain hot, so you have to be careful not to get in contact with that part while taking your toast out of the toaster, if you want your toast immediately. Our older toaster had a recessed metal part which didn't have this problem, so it's a simple manufacturing design which hopefully they'll take into consideration in their future production of this nice toaster.

We had a good old sunbeam toaster which served us more than 13 years but stop functioning so wanted to replace it with a similar one or brand but could not find the same model or type any more, since the older one's buttons were on the wider angle unlike these new toasters. All Sunbeams designs have been changed and some consumers' comments were not positive about their functions or quality. There were limited small and simple toasters in the market too, so I went with this Black and Decker one. But I don't believe newer products will last even 2-3 years! I don't mind paying a little more but just to be sure of longer lasting better products.
So overall this product with the price range seem to be OK to order it. So, I will recommend this toaster if you are looking for a small and simple and economical toaster in the market (If it won't stop functioning for the next 7 years!!! Lets cross our fingers.)

Trying to find one that works consistently is a challenge. This one works so far. I like everything about it but for my counter which is small it is a bit too long. My fault for not checking the measurements. I have not used the bagel setting yet but the toast comes out toasted and I don't have to do it twice or watch to make sure it does not burn.

This product works great. It is lightweight, not too big, and looks nice on the counter. We don't use the bagel function, though, because we like our bagel to be toasted on both sides of each half (the bagel function just toasts on the cut sides).

I bought this as a birthday present for my boyfriend. He didn't have a toaster and I knew he wanted one. I'm a college student so I don't have a whole lot of money. I knew that black and decker was a good brand and I was very pleased with the price. My mom had advised me to buy a more expensive toaster because she didn't believe that something so affordable could be very good. However, I insisted on getting this one because it had all the features that I wanted it to have (a bagel setting and a removable crumb tray) and I trust black and decker. Great product! Highly recommended!

Great toaster--Great price---does everything it is ment to do right!!!!

The only thing I don't like is that the knob doesn't 'click' as you change shade selections, it turns very easily, so I'm not sure where the indicator is unless I turn it towards me and look at it (and I have to grab my glasses to do that!). Otherwise, it works fine.
