6-Day Automatic Pet Feeder

This worked out great for our Hawaii vacation. I had a cat sitter for the afternoon, but nothing for the morning feeding. Setting up the feeder was easy and food was delivered to them every morning at 6 am. Kinda noisy, but they were usually still asleep at 6 am so I doubt it bothered them. My only complaint would be the shipping from Walmart.com, I paid over $14 for next day shipping and it didn't show up until 4 days later!

I ordered this product for my cat, who is a baby and expects to be fed in the morning between 6 and 7am. When I received the product, it was unexpectedly large! I know that it will scare the mess out of my cat, so I will hold it until she gets older. However, once I use it, I won't have to get up in the morning anymore to feed her.

I purchased this feeder for my cat, so that she wouldn't eat all her food on the first day I left to go out of town and be starving the rest of the days until I returned. The feeder works well, and I was happy that my cat didn't starve while I was gone. Unfortunately, the sections for food in the bowl only hold a small quantity of dry food, less than 2/3 of a cup. (I filled each section with a little more than half a cup because I was worried that the lid would catch and not work correctly.) I would suggest purchasing this item for a very small cat or dog only. Also, the manufacturer advertises that wet food can be placed in the feeder and kept cool by the hidden ice packs underneath the bowl. I would not suggest doing this because the ice packs are very small and thin, and they probably would not keep wet food cold for more than a few hours.

I purchased this product to feed my cat, so when we go on vacation in a couple of weeks she can be taken care of for a few days. When I received this product, I thought to myself, it looks kind of cheap, but it should work just fine. SO I decided to test it since there was almost a month before our vacation (now there is 2wks). I connected the brand-new 9-volt battery after several attempts because the wire it attaches to is SO small that you cannot possibly get it in the small compartment w/out some trouble. Got the battery in & tried to turn on the timer to no avail. I think that either the wire came damaged OR I may have damaged it trying forever to get the battery attached & in. So I ultimately have no clue how this thing works b/c I never got to use it before returning it to the store. I then purchased another 8-day feeder from WalMart's website & it was only $55.00 & I received it two days ago...this one works GREAT!! It also has a recorder to record your voice or the sound of food falling into the dish so my cat comes right to it. But I would not recommend the 6-day one, spend about $15 more & get the better 8-day feeder from a better company; it is also built better, more sturdy & not cheap looking. Also the 8-day feeder uses 3 AA batteries, no wire to connect to which makes it more reliable to me!

I purchased this for my rather large cat who was placed on a strict diet. He used to wake me between 4 & 6 in the morning and since I got this feeder I can sleep in. I was worried at first that he would force it open to get more food but that hasn't happened yet (he's tried very hard!) and its been about 4 weeks. I do wish this brand had an 8-day version so I would only have to refill the slots once a week (easier to remember & my cat only gets one serving of dry food a day - have no use for the wet food freezer packs). I tried another 8-day brand and I'm not as happy with the timer operation. This 6-day is a lot easier to program but I do wish the slots were numbered like the 8-day one. Too bad I can't combine the good features of both!

The product is a good idea but I got it damaged and I did not want to take it back so I kept it. The plastic cover for the timer was cracked.

I bought two of these automatic feeders for my cats and used them for 4 days while I was away on vacation. The feeders worked perfectly-no mess and it was easy to use and clean. Plus, the amount of times it will be used, it is a much better value then some of the pricier automatic feeder options on the market.

This product was as advertised. It can be difficult to put the center piece back in when batteries are changed, etc. Having done it a few times, just to practice, I am getting used to it, and it works easier. One of the reviews I read before buying this product said a cat could break in to the next segment. That person must have a HUGE cat. Mine is pretty persistant about getting food when he wants. He can't break in. I have tried and can't. I fear it I tried any harder, I would break the top. I think it all works fine.
I can't speak to whether or not the cold packs keep food fresh, as I don't use them.
