Camera broke after three uses

This camera broke after three uses. I got this camera last year for my husband for Christmas. He didn't open up the package until this fall 2012 pre-hunting deer season in NYS. After three uses, the camera stopped working. We called Moultrie to find out how to get it fixed. They said that we would have to ship the unit back to the company for repair at our cost. If it was a manufacture defect they would replace if it was within the one year warranty. I ordered online and didn't have a store receipt but did have an e-mail. The first person said that wouldn't work but if I registered the product they would replace or repair still if I sent it in. Several weeks went by and we didn't hear anything so my husband called to check. He was told that it was almost done and would be sent soon no mention that they would not replace due to the fact I did not send in a receipt. We got it back yesterday and was told it was un-repairable due to a circuit board defect and without a receipt they would not replace. I called again and was told the e-mail receipt would be fine now but I have to pay for shipping again to ship back, and that it had to be postmarked by tomorrow since I purchased it at Walmart on November 28th, 2011. Terrible customer service. I was also told by the first person I spoke too that defects are common but the company is good about replacing defective products. We will not buy a Moultrie Camera again.

I purchased this camera because of high ratings on this site. I have been somewhat disappointed. You have to remove the batteries to extract the card. You can aim the camera with the IR beam, but it doesn't pick up movement as well as another brand I have used.

Great pictures and easy to set up

Laser pointer aims the picture shots so there is no mistakes about where you are taking pictures. I was using 3 pictures per 1 minute set on enhanced photo with a 4g memory card installed. You then can remove the card and take it home to look at it without taking the unit down from where you have placed it. I purchased 2 memory cards so that when I take one out I am able to place another one back in for continuous shots of the area. Night shots are in black and white, but the picture quality is quite good.

I PURCHASED THIS CAMERA ON LINE. IT ARRIVED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. IT TOOK ME SOME TIME TO UNDERSTAND HOW IT WORKED. I HAD AN SD CARD TO USE WITH IT. A PERSON HAS TO WORK WITH THE CAMERA TO FIGURE IT OUT. YOU ALMOST NEED A PAIR OF TWEEZERS TO INSTALL THE SD CARD AND TO TAKE IT OUT. A PERSONS FINGERS DON'T FIT VERY WELL. THE LASER AIM LIGHT WORKS WELL IN THE DARK. I HAVE BEEN GETTING SOME NICE DAYTIME PICTURES IN GOOD COLOR AND NIGHT SHOTS ARE PRETTY CLEAR IN BLACK AND WHITE. ONE THING IT DOES IS PICK UP AND TAKE PICTURES OF TREE LIMBS MOVING WITH THE WIND. I AM PLEASED WITH IT.

In general the system functions as expected. The design of the case is the issue I have. Hinged at the top opening is anoying becasue it drops down in the users way when setting up the camers. The side door to access to the SD card is hard to get to. I would not buy this unit again. Just saying it needs more user refinment.

I built a metal box for it and I am using it as a security camera on a building that has no electricity. I wish I would have bought it a long time ago, I can now see anyone who comes near my storage building. It says you can only put up to a 4 gig sd card in it, but I put an 8 gig and it works just fine. It seems to be a really good camera for the money.

Been an active hunter for 42 years. Now enjoy the pictures just as much as the hunt. This camera is packed with features and value. Excellent pictures with a load of detail day and night. Only complaint is the plastic clip on the belt. Just replace it with a locking cord and your all set.

Like most tech products, this has plenty of features but lacks good instructions.
For example - it comes with a remote, which has 2 buttons "Capture" and "Locate", yet NO WHERE in the instructions is this even mentioned. If Moutrie would have spent 5 more minutes making clearer and more complete instructions it would have been a big +.

The LCD screen has may displays, several of which are not mentioned in the instructions.

Great deal, however it was defective and did not work. I got it as a black Friday deal over the Internet and it was not a product the sold in stores so I could not go in and exchange it. I didn't want to wait for the shipping time to replace it so we returned and bought another camera. The reviews were great but our camera was defective.

This is a great infared camera with very good battery life.This camera will takes hundreds & hundreds of pictures on a set of batteries. I already had one of these cameras, and had to have another at this price with free shipping to my local Walmart store.The only drawback to this camera that I have found is: The SD media card slot is in a tight area ( too close to the housing & the battery door. Which requires me to have to use a pair of tweezers to remove & install the media card. But this is just a minor issue. I really like this camera and highly recommend it to anyone. Great black & white night pictures and colorful daytime pictures.

Very nice quality, I purchased this from Wal-mart on line after a friend bought one at a local gun shop, his worked so well I had to have one. I did not tell him what I paid, as he paid 62.50 more, and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. It shoots a good pic. Lens could be faster I think but got what I wanted. Wish it was camo though. I used it by my deer feeder and got a nice buck !Then I tried it by my chicken coop, as we were losing chickens to something, and got two possoms an adult and a younger one. I set up some traps and got em in three nights. My chickens and wife are happy now too! This camera could be used for all kinds of surveylance. Really happy with it ! Only 1 small gripe - You need needle nose to remove memory card..

This game camera is easy to use, takes great pictures and was an excellent buy. We have an older game camera that uses the big old 6 volt batteries. It does pretty well, but the battery only last for a week or so. The D cells in the new one take many more pictures without replacing the battery, and the infrared works good.
