the first time I used it 90% of the pictures opened OK. the 2nd time 80% opened. then it really went down hill. unfortunately, more than 90 days passed before I figured out what I paid $150.00 for. now I have to deal with Moultrie ?

I have had my cam for three years now it works great. The strap broke that holds it up but those are very inexpensive so i dont know why people complain about it. I had my camera take probably over 4000 pictures on one set of batteries no problem. I love my camera and highly recomend it for anyone who is looking for a great IR cam.

To change out the memory card you must open two compartments. One compartment to turn off the camera and another to remove the memory card. Also, thumb screws for opening these compartments do not turn smoothly.

I need more time to review thoroughly, as in winter usage. The photo quality is very good. The placement of the SD card is not good at all. It is too hard to squeeze fingers between the case and the battery area to insert or remove the card.

Chancy at best - Can see IR flash

My first shot at this good deal from Walmart showed up with both battery door screws broken.. So I took it back to Walmart. Moultrie customer service is not good. They make you pay to return for warranty repair or defects and are not responsive. Rolling the dice again I ordered another from Walmart and it showed up working and in one piece. Once you learn the menu system it is not hard to set up. It takes fairly good daytime pics and the nighttime "IR" pics are pretty good. Batt usage is good. Pics in the late afternoon may be shot in IR or daytime color mode. I set it up for security purposes (why I wanted nightime IR) and discovered after a few days that the IR flash is visible to the human eye. The LEDS glow red when it flashes - not very covert. So that means the LED's are not purely IR, but emit both visible red and InfraRed light... good to know before you buy.. If you are using for critters not a problem I suppose.

I love this spy camera. I use it to see what cats are at my outdoor feeding station overnight. Any new cats need to be trapped/neutered/and returned to the feeding location.
The camera takes great pictures and videos. It has a laser light to assist you in aiming the camera at the right location.
My only complaint is that I have the camera set to record 30 seconds of video each time but I only 10 seconds on the playback. That might be a user issue. I have to call the company to ask. By the way... I have called Moultrie and their customer service was very helpful.

The Camera works great and takes great pictures at first. The buckle on the strap that attaches to the tree is cheap and breaks after just couple of uses.
I have two of these cameras and the LEDs went out after 5 Months of use. They are under warranty but you can not get a hold of anyone to get the return authorization. Calls go on Hold for ever and emails are not returned. I would look and other manufactures for cameras and feeders. I have bad feeder motors as well. again these are not worth the Money.

This camera takes great pictures.
Very easy to use.
I don't like the color. It is very black and very noticeable. But it can easily be covered with colored duct tape to make it any color you want.
The memory card is a little hard to get out, but after a few times you learn how to do it.

This is the best game camera I have owned and the best value. It will use batteries that were down to 60% on other cameras and keep working for weeks. It hardly uses any battery life and that equals more money saved. It is rugged and takes great pictures. If you want a great camera at a competitive price, you won't go wrong with this one.

I own 2 of these cameras, 1 is 18 months old, the other 13 months old. They have been in use the entire time mounted to oak trees on my property.
The picture quality is very good, day and night. Battery life has been excellent. The SD card is a challenge to get to but with practice it's not been a problem to remove/replace.
The only problem I have had is the reader screens both failed last month. I just called Ken at Moultrie and he's sending me replacement screens at no charge. Excellent customer service!

I purchased the Moultrie I 40 trailcam after having problems with several other cams. I am very impressed with the performance and even more impressed with the price! The battery life is unbelievable and set-up was easy. The I 40 is all anyone will need to keep track of wildlife in your area. I highly recommend this product!!

This is my 2nd game camera. I also have a game camera with a standard flash. I wanted this one for the infared flash for not only game pictures, but I've used it a few times as a security camera.
So far the camera works well. Most of the pictures are clear. A few times I've had a picture come out with a haze or cloudy look. I think it was a humity issue. I try to be careful about taking the camera streight from my warm car to the cold outdoors, thinking that it was casuing condisation. That seems to work. I've gotten some great shots of game and even a tresspasser. The SD card would be a hard to get out if you're a man with large hands. I found that it pops out into your hand eazy if you just press on it with your pinky finger. The straps are small so I replaced them with something stronger so that I could lock it to the tree. If someoen steals it they'll have to break it in doing so!
