I was so excited about this blender, because I have been looking for a single size for a long time now. I purchased this one for $17.88 at my local Walmart (Florida) and brought it home, set it up and put it to use.
First, the cord is incredibly short. It really needs to be about 4ft longer. You must keep it right by the outlet if you want to use it, which is disappointing.
The blades inside are very short, thus, it doesn't blend many hard items very well without you having to add more liquid or shake it up a big to get it to move to the bottom. It certainly doesn't match the power of a regular blender...not even close. I put in 5 whole strawberries, some ice & some milk and it wouldn't blend them through without me adding more milk or juice. I was bummed.
And lets talk about the lid. It's cheap. It doesn't screw on (which is should) so you basically have to push it down & hope it's even on all sides. If it's not, it leaks. And if it is, it's impossible to get the lid back off if you need to. Especially if it's wet or there is any liquid around the edges. I needed to use a rubber jar opener to help me get it off. Not impressive.
Overall, if you are blending liquids only and a few ice cubes, this will do you fine. But heaven forbid you want more, because this product doesn't deliver.

This blender is simply amazing. I make a smoothie to take with me to work every morning. It blends even the largest chunk of ice in seconds into my smoothie mix! Then I take the cup off the blending device, and it's perfect for on the go! This would be worth twice the price, but I'm glad I got it for what I did! I'm thinking about giving them out for Christmas gifts!

I had "Weight Loss Surgery" back in 6/06 and have achieved more than my desired weight loss. Quite abit of the weight loss is from drinking blended protein shakes. I sure as heck wish that I had found one of these 'cool' little blenders back then. To make a shake in a normal sized blender was a waste of effort from the after clean-up alone. Protein shakes can't be made up in advance because the protein nutrient value doesn't last very long. Thus, it seemed like I was always blending shakes and washing out the containers. Also, our bodies can't process more than about 20 gms. of protein every couple of hrs. So, with this new little blender, i'm back to drinking at least 20 of my needed 60 daily gms. of protein in shakes again. Plus, another problem I had with my old blender was the quality of the ice crushing being done. I have always had very sensitive teeth since childhood and with the old blender, there was still always little chunks of ice in my shakes. With this little blender, it makes perfectly smooth shakes and smoothies. I'm lucky in that since I have to be so conscious of all the calories and nutrients in my food, and how fussy of an eater my husband is, we basically live out of our micro-wave and I use this 'cool', little blender.

I wanted a simple single serving blender that was inexpensive but would crush up ice cubes for my juiceplus shakes that I make daily. This blender does it. I use it every morning. It is small enough if you wanted to tote it to work for midday use or before you leave work when you are going straight to an exercise class. The only feature I don't like is how hard it is to remove/untwist the cup off the base. A normal female hand has trouble getting a comfortable grip around the cup to twist it off. Sometimes it takes me 5 or 6 tries. I can't imagine someone with arthritis or smaller hands to untwist it off.

This is actually the best thing I’ve bought this year; it’s extremely useful for me, and it was cheap. I bought my Hamilton Beach single-serve blender at Wal-Mart a month ago for only $15. So far, it’s working great, and even my mom is happy because I’m not using her 7-year-old gigantic and horrible-looking blender and leaving it dirty on the counter anymore.
I work out three times a week, and I always make my own nutritional shake after I come home from the gym. For fruit smoothies and nutritional shakes, the HB single-serve blender is excellent. It’s small, I can drink right from the jar, and it’s easy to clean. I can even bring it with me to the car and place in the drink holder. It fits anywhere among the dishes and the stuff inside the cabinet, and it blends fast.
Of course it’s not perfect, I’ve tried to make some cocktails with it, a frozen margarita and a pina colada. It blended pretty well, but it struggled a little to crush the ice, so you might want to put fewer or smaller ice cubes. There’s one more thing that bothers me, actually; I have to keep my finger on the power button to keep it working. If I release it, the blender stops. That’s not a big deal, though. Also, it’s also kind of noisy, just like all blenders are.

I like the item, but feel it could use just a little more power. It blends pretty well, but I have to let it work pretty hard to accomplish the task of blending seeds and frozen fruit. We shall see how long it lasts. I have only used it a few times so far.

I received this as a Christmas gift and used it almost every day. It worked ok, but never felt like it would be up to taxing tasks. That was ok as I have a big blender to use and just wanted this one for breakfast smoothies. The seal at the bottom of the "cup" has come apart and it is leaking all over. I will not be purchasing this item again, will look for one that is better quality.

After reading what seems like a million reviews on tons of Blender's I ended up purchasing this personal blender for $15.88 at my local walmart!
I wanted a blender to make smoothies/fraps and it does a perfect job. It chopped the ice right away, no stops to stir or pick up the container and give it a shake! It's not loud either which is nice. It looks nice on the counter and doesn't take up much room! I love that i can drink out of the cup it's blended it since i hate doing dishes.

I never was much for blenders and the possibilities until a recent trip to Canada when one of my buddies took one of these little beauties along.
The blender really surprised me with its ability to pulverize ice and chop up fruit (both fresh and frozen). The blender's small size and ease of use was also a plus. After we returned I bought one for myself. The low price also made it an attractive purchase.
I went to the HB website and found a bunch of delicious recipes and have enjoyed several of them for a quick breakfast and or treat.
I like it so much I have bought a second one to keep at the office.
