this is a beautiful cheap lil fountain, However, the motor dies out on it quick and after a few months of use, it no longer worked. ALSO its really loud when it runs so i don't know how relaxing the trickling from the water is when u can hear the motor running on it over top of that. the look is lovely tho and it looks alot better in person then on the page.

There is only 1 thing that I don't like about this product: the motor noise. Trust me, it is no longer a relaxation product when it makes this much of noise. Other than that, it is good.

Very nice piece for the price, Sleek, contemporary and a good design in Plastic, but however, the only thing is that the motor was not as quite as I thought it would, its relatively quite if the water is full, but as the water goes a little down, it starts making the motor noise. Why I am pointing this is, I have had other table top water fountain items before and some of them were very quiet even though the water level went a little below. But this piece makes a little more noise when the water level is not full.

The little light is great too...sometimes the light tends to go off, but I just roll the little switch on the cord to turn the whole power off, then back on again. Seems to happen about 1x week.
Other than that, it was easy to assemble, got shipped quickly (thanx Walmart ;) and looks great in our atrium. I used my own stones & crystals, instead of the semi-tumbled river rocks that come with it. It's very peaceful to look at ~ I wish the water was louder too, as some have already mentioned in their reviews. Rearranging the rocks is relaxing, and the water could be more "audible".
I clean this with baking soda and put a teaspoon of it in with Brita-filtered water after I clean this out, before I fill it & plug it back in. It keeps it quite clean and I do this weekly.
Be SURE to check it daily to add water, as it evaporates! And be SURE to fill it up with water FIRST before plugging in so you don't burn the motor. Also watch for some splashing if the rocks aren't arranged right ~ that's an easy fix. The instructions that come with it are a good guide.
All in all, I give this a B+ for a small, economical home fountain.

I have now been using this product for a couple of weeks. It is easy to assemble..although I find it hard to locate the flow control lever..so I left it alone. As more water flow should bring more relaxing and soothing sounds to the product. It fits in well on top of my table and I also like the dim glow of the product itself.Thanks..

I purchased this for my sister and her family as a gift. They have all raved about how great it is and loves that it lights up with a dim light. She loves it and was exactly what she was hoping / wanting. The colors are black and white but the sails are an irredescent color at night with the lights dim. Very nice - very happy with it!!

After reading the comment of - wallmartshoper, CA - I decided to purchase two of the fountains (just such a great price). I really didn't use the enclosed instructions as the fountain was easy to assemble on its own.
I will agree - it's all about rock placement. I've moved around (added/subtracted) rocks until the water sound was appealing to my ears. I have an open kitchen so the fountain is sitting on the counter edge facing my living/dining area.
I just received it last week and haven't heard any motor sounds to date. I try to keep the water level up at all times to avoid that issue. I recently purchased distilled water as the instructions suggested and will be using going forward. The light is a great effect - very soft and not annoying. Didn't see anything about replacement bulbs however.
Not sure if I'm going to place the other fountain in my bathroom, bedroom or give it away as a gift. I've been looking for a fountain for years and this one suffices. For the price it's attractive, a nice size and relaxing.

This is cute once set up although cheap, but the motor is louder than the water sound. I bought it to hear trickling water, but you need to put your head next to it to really hear it unless one can hear a pin drop in their home!
I'm still looking for a bigger, better one.

I bought this item because it matched with my table very well. Even though there were many bad reviews about this item, but I thought lets give it a try and Ill return it if I don't like it.
Despite what many people complain about, I didn't find the motor too noisy but I was very disappointed with the fact that you could not hear the water when you assemble the rocks according to the instruction book. I was considering returning the item but that same evening, out of boredom, I started playing with the placement of the rocks. I noticed the more rocks I placed on the three metal plates, specially if you place the heavier rocks towards the edge from where water is supposed to fall down to the other plate and thus block the water so that it collects into each plate a little, before falling, then the water sound is significantly more audible.
Now with the new rock arrangement the sound from this cute little fountain is perfect and I am very very satisfied with the product. And it matches with my black table top too.

After assembled, it looks really nice, i was impressed with how pretty and delicate it is. The assembly instructions are okay, but the the diagram was lacking some detail. It's easy to figure out, just make sure to rinse the dust out of the bowl and estimate a proper fill line. Also, make sure to keep a paper towel handy until the leaves are lined up correctly in case water spills. It does take about 15 minutes to figure everything out from opening the box to turning it on. If you're buying something in hopes of a watery musical sound, the motor is a little loud. Otherwise, mine worked out pretty good :)

I purchased the fountain for my office and I am very pleased with it. I enjoy the gentle sound of the water in the background while I am working. The product was easy to assemble and to clean. I used only 2-4 stones per leaf, and placed the rest of the stones in the base. I also check the water level everyday to make sure that there is enough water. The light is soft yellow which I think provides a good and relaxing effect.

The only reason I didn't give this fountain 5 stars all the way through.....
I own several Homedics fountians & have no complaints at all about any of them, except this one.
It is very appealing to the eye. Yes, it's plastic, but when put together, it doesn't look "cheap". The price of $20.00 is perfect for this fountain.
It was very easy to put together, without reading the instructions. They almost confused things.
This is the only Homedics fountain that I own where I can hear the pump motor over the sound of falling water. It's not overwhelmingly loud, but it's loud enough that I can't hear the water fall. I even added quite a few rocks under the falling water, as someone had suggested. UPDATE: I just added another rock and I can hear water! :-) But also, still the hum of the pump. The pump motor "noise" is more of a vibrating hum. TIP: Make sure you fill it with water to the fill line on the bowl. The pump is less noisy with maximum water level.
Overall, I love the looks of this fountain enough not to return it due to the sound of the pump.

i just got this yesterday and i have it on my night stand. and i love it at first i didnt really like the color but after awile i relized that the yellow/orange was better than a white light because with white it would be harder to get to bed with it on. but a with yellow light it creates a warm glow. and i have a tip if you want to hear the trickling sound of water, you have to put rocks at the areas were the water comes off of the each silver plate and you will hear that trickling sound, over all this is a very good product.
