The TCYM-07 Total Chef Yogurt Maker is an easy to use small appliance that lets you make delicious and healthy yogurt at home in a convenient and affordable way. The compact design of this automatic yogurt maker ensures that it takes up very little space on the counter. Seven different batches can be made at the same time. You can make multiple batches of your favorite flavors simultaneously or make one big batch of the flavor you love the most. The TCYM 07 Total Chef Yogurt Maker comes with seven yogurt jars and seven lids. An included instruction manual provides simple step-by-step instructions and some easy-to-follow recipes.
I had a yogurt maker 20 years ago and loved the thick, creamy yogurt that it made. I decided to try yogurt-making again because of the thin, almost tasteless, yogurt that is available in the stores. My first batch was a bust, because I flicked the tiny on/off switch with the almost microscopic light one too many times, the maker sat overnight on off. The second batch was almost as bad. The recipe directions say to let your milk and yogurt starter come to room temperature. The result was a watery, bitter mix. The third batch was the charm. After doing a little research on the net, I used a meat thermometer to add the starter between 105-122 degrees and threw a dish towel over the maker to maintain an even temperature. This time the yogurt was much thicker and not as tangy. It was a struggle in the beginning, but now I am happy with the results. For a first time user, the directions were a little vague.

I got this to start making fresh yogurt for my baby and myself, and I love it! The directions even point out that you don't have to boil the milk since it's pasteurized, you just mix in the starter and you're ready to go. The little jars are cute but difficult to fill without making a mess, so I actually just use a casserole dish to make a big batch and it works fine. This is so easy!

My first try at making yogurt with this maker didn't end up too well. I followed all the instructions in the booklet, but decided to try using a probiotic capsule (GR8 by NOW) powder instead of actual yogurt starter. After 10 hours my organic whole milk was just sour milk. So I got some starter from the health food store and some powdered goat's milk to make a thicker yogurt. Major success! Seven 5 ounce glasses of really, really tasty yogurt. Really fresh tasting. I used about 4 tablespoons of that powdered goat's milk mixed in with my quart of organic whole milk. I'm totally satisfied with the quality of this yogurt maker and I would recommend it.

Lacks nice features like automatic shut-off and temperature reading, but works effectively (have now used it 5 times). Good value for the money. Note to users, the switch is "on" when the light is on... Not when the switch is in the "up" position.

I had gotten this yogurt maker for my boyfriend who LOVES yogurt. He thinks the product is awesome and is glad that I gotten it for him. What you basically do is make plain yogurt in the maker and add whatever you want to it afterwards. It really gets you inspired to make interesting yogurts (I like adding a little bit of sugar and vanilla and add granola on top).

For years I have been tempted to purchase a yogurt maker; however, I was unwilling to pay the $50-75 price tags that I had seen. When I saw this price, I had to try knowing that'd I'd only be out less than $20 if it didn't live up to its description.
It was the best $20 I've spent in a long time. Making DELICIOUS yogurt is ridiculously easy. I turn it on before going to bed; in the morning...I have the best-tasting yogurt. I eat it every single day for the delicious taste and the health benefits. Also, I'm saving a lot of money. If I can get milk at $1.98 a gallon, minus electricity costs, I get seven yogurt-sized cups for about 50 cents - that's less than 10 cents each!

For under 20 dollars you can make decent yogurt at home. Makes 7 jars of yogurt at once. The jars are glass instead of plastic and seem very sturdy. Very easy to use. Not a large item so it does not take up a lot of counter space. Plain yogurt made with this machine with one percent milk comes out tasting like a substitute sour cream. Worth the money.

The overall apperance and price is excellent. However, it was defective and I noticed that there is no timer on it. I am afraid that I could not give it a fair review since I was not able to use it; instead I returned it and purchased one a bit more expensive with more features and it worked prefectively.

Great little yogurt maker

I have owned this yogurt maker for about 4 months and have made about 10 batches of yogurt. It has never failed to make perfect yogurt. You only need 2 ingredients: milk and a starter yogurt. I usually buy one greek plain yogurt for my starter and use 1% milk. Since plain yogurt doesn't have much of a taste, I add a little vanilla and 2 packs of sweetner before I eat it. You can also add fruit or honey. I read some reviews about the plastic lids splitting or the glass containers breaking. I have not had any problems with either. I like this little yogurt maker so much that I gave it as a Christmas present.
