Hoover Steamvac Silver Carpet Cleaner

I love this carpet cleaner!! Easy to put together, cleans great, tank is easy to empty and the cleaner itself is VERY easy to operate. I was able to put this together in about 10 minutes by myself. I couldn't imagine potty training my two year old without this carpet cleaner. Anything my daughter can get on the carpet this cleaner can get it out and make it look like it was never there. I would recommend this to any parent whos potty training!!

This product is a piece of junk. After one use, the steamer started leaking. The water tank emptied out onto my carpet. I bought this product because of the good reviews it received. After doing more research on the Internet, I found that leaking is a common problem with this steamer.

I have owned 2 of these machines and they ARE great. Easy to use and does a great job of cleaning. My problem came when both of my machines just quit suctioning and I checked over completely and followed all instructions - no suction. Maybe just a freak thing with one machine but tend to think that it is a manufacturing defect when 2 machines did the same thing. Did not take to repair shop due to the wonderful price of original purchase, felt repair cost would override replacement cost plus having to travel over 20 miles to take to repair shop. So if you want to buy this machine, be aware that it may not last more than a couple of years before it quits suctioning.

I bought this Hoover twice both hoovers broke on me withen one year spand. The first hoover stoped sucking up the water and the second one started to smoke. So we fig it was time to toss it. I wish the best of luck if u buy this item.

In 2 hours did the seating surfaces of a large "pit" couch. About 300sq feet of outdoor carpet. 4 outdoor chairs (seating area) and 3 small dinning chairs.

The 300 sq feet of outdoor carpet took 4 refills. Had I followed the instructions it would have doubled that amount. Very high on consumption of fluid...not that I'm complaining. It pulled mud out of the carpet.

Hand tool for upholstery was excellent. I've used R.Dr's several times. Almost the same quality job. Actually a little less over-spray/drip(lower water pressure). Could use a little more suction but adequate.

I'm not sure how deep the scrub brushes got. No obvious scrub pattered but then I was doing outdoor carpeting. Seems it could use some adjustment for floor hight. Needs to come with hardwood floor attachment.

Overall quality looks a little low...but so is the price.

I think if you spent 2-3 times more you would only get 10-15% more in performance .

I don't usually write reviews but I have this product for more than 2 years now and it never broke down. It still works as efficient as the first time I used it. My sister bought a $3,000-all-metal-steam-vacuum and yet, mine works better. I recommended it to my co-workers and even allowed them to use it. They love it too. It cleans the carpet very good, easy to use, light weight (I have a bad back but this one doesn't bother me) and dries the carpet fast. Love it!!!

after the 3rd or 4th use it quit 1sucking up the dirty water. I tried reseating the recovery tank (dirty water resevoir) several times and finally gave up and returned it to Walmart. The lady behind me in line at customer service said she had 3 of these same machines and every one quite picking up the water. After talking with her I was reluctant to give another one a try, but decided to exchange it for the same machine. Again, it worked great the first few times I used it and then stopped sucking up the dirty water. I WAS NOT HAPPY! Just before I took it out the door to return it, I decided to check it out one more time. The whole problem was with the FRONT PANEL on the RECOVERY TANK! It looks like it is seated properly, but if it is the least bit crooked or is not COMPLETELY closed it will not pick up. Every time it stops picking up, I am able to lift the panel, make sure it is seated properly and IT STARTS WORKING AGAIN. I now feel sure that was the problem with the first one which I returned. Other than this little quirk, I am really happy with it.

I would recommend you try it. I have a 14 year old dog who sometimes has "accidents". She was the main reason I bought the Hoover carpet cleaner. The first time I used it I was pleased to find it did a good job of removing the urine spots in my office carpet. (I find it helpful to spray bad stains with "Resolve" before shampooing.) It also removed a small blood stain which a rental steam carpet cleaner left behind, even after several attempts to remove it. I like the fact you can see the dirty water coming into the recovery tank. I know my carpet is clean when the water is no longer dirty. I only have two complaints; the upholstery hose will not stay secured to the bottom storage clip (that didn't happen with the first one) and the clean water tank holds more water than the recovery tank. That seems backwards to me.

i would buy this thing over and over again. i had a bissel scrubber before this one, and before i bought the bissel, i used my moms little green thing or whatever its called. i scrubbed my carpet, my couch, my recliners, everything with this thing and it pulled dirt out of the chairs that BOTH of the other things missed!!!!!! (my carpet and couch were brand new) i scrubbed my husbands truck out with the bissel, the water was clear after i did that. i got this on mothers day (he didnt drive the truck) and scrubbed it, i was emptying brown water after brown water til it was clear finally. it will get your stuff clean! i read everyoens comments about all the scrubbers, and this one i bought and i absolutely love it. i use it at least once a month cuz i'm a clean freak and i have two small children . it gets their meses out, plus my husbands! love it! but it is a little ugly, gotta say that tho!
