This fan is sooooooo cheap. It's all plastic. Runs ok and puts out air but the pedestal won't stay up because the tightner is also plastic so it drops down all by itself. Will probably return it. Might as well buy the cheaper one, puts out the same amount of air.

I will be returning this fan as soon as I find another to replace it with. I gave it two stars because it does put out a lot of air, that part is great. What I can't take is how loud it is!! I have to keep it on "low" because it's the "quietest" setting. I still find it to be pretty loud. I've had all kinds of fans, I understand this is not a "quiet fan", I never actually thought of buying one because I've never had issues with any brand before this. It's a fan, it's gonna make a noise. This just seems to be louder than the norm. I've also been finding that it falls down lower after a couple days no matter how tight I've tightened the adjustable lock.

Purchased 2. Work great. Leery of the cheap shroud

I purchased 2 of these. They were on a pallet and alot of the boxes looked damaged. They were $21 a piece so a great price for a 18" and a brand name. Go the home putting them together is pretty easy. They work great and on 3(high) moves a lot of air. They also have a very wide oscillation pattern.
My only negative is the plastic shroud fan cover. It has a cheap snap like interface. I am very leery of this. I have a feeling the snaps won't last long after a few cleanings. I am used to the old metal lever type that holds the shroud on. I was so excited about the price I didn't look at that at the store. I will continue to use them just might put a zip tie or something on the shroud. Theses are for the kids room so 1 small bump the front might fall off.
Other than that they are great and would definitely recommend.

I'll never buy a box fan again. It's great that the cool air is blowing at the level that people are, instead of a box fan on the floor. This is a large one, very powerful. I set it in front of an open window, which is great because it's blowing fresh, air pulling in from outside. It is light in weight with a broad base, it is study. I also use it on low to circulate the central air conditioning.

I have used this fan for four years. It is operated 24 hours a day every day in my basement to circulate air. It has been knocked over many times and just keeps going. It generates a strong airflow and is relatively quiet. Just bought another one today for the upstairs.

No kidding, this is the third fan I have purchased this week. It's summertime in Southern California and am simply trying to cut down on my AC usage. The first of the three fans I purchased was a $17 pedestal fan I got from Target. It was okay but nothing to write home about. It just kind of moved around the existing air- even if it was just warm air. I decided to take it back and purchase a more expensive Honeywell 8-speed tower fan w/ a remote. I figured with the $60 price tag, it would be more worth my while. This fancy fan failed to cool down and generate a breeze cool enough to drop the temperature of the room. The height of the fan turned out to be an issue- My boyfriend and I had to think of a way to have the air coming out of the fan reach the top of our bed. The poor guy got up about five times before falling asleep to move it from one nightstand to the other- When he did that- it was too in our face. Then he moved it from the nightstand to the dresser, but then it was too high up to reach us. Lets just say, it didn't work out so well and we turned on the central air. I have to admit- I did have a good time laughing at him when he got up every 2 minutes with new plans of fan relocation. BTW- his new nickname is "Dances with fans." HAHA!
Finally, I took that fan back too and bought this Lasko 18" one yesterday. We were both impressed at how easy it was to install and how powerful it was when we turned it on. Sure, the noise is a bit loud on the high setting, but for that big of a gust- it's worth it. Besides, he says it drowns out the sound of my snoring. He was kidding of course...
This fan also looks nice. Sure, I have only had the fan for one day, but I would recommend it to anyone. As with all electronics, they will eventually die, hence making the price tag of this model economical. It's sure to save you some lettuce AND meet your needs. So, buck up kids and buy this fan! Summer is here and it's time to cool down.

Extremely easy to assemble, this fan has a surprising amount of air movement. We compared it to other fans in the store and it's low setting felt like the high setting on the other fans. I had it oscillating across me and had to tilt it up because so much air was drying my eyes out. This fan is a tremendous value.

I will give this fan five stars because of the value, operational functionality, and styling. I needed a fan to move more air than the ordinary 16", three bladed version. The extra 2" blade diameter and the five fan blades definitely do the trick. Most people complain the fan is noisy especially when in the "high" position. Like most things, it's a trade off between higher air flow and less fan noise. Any five bladed fan will be louder than a three or four bladed because of the extra paddle/s cutting through the air. So take your choice, less air flow with less noise or more air flow with more noise. It all depends on your application. It's actually not too loud on the low setting. The large diameter base provides for good stability. I recommend this fan especially where maximum air flow is of importance.

I PURCHASED THIS FAN TO ASSIST MY 20 IN BOX FAN AND IT PUTS OUT AS MUCH BREEZE AS THE BOX FAN. IT GOES UP TO 1900+ CFM AND ON MED SPEED IT WORKS GREAT.HIGH SPEED GIVES A GOOD BREEZE IN AN 11 FT X 20 FT GARAGE. ALSO,IT IS EASY TO ASSEMBLE AND READY TO USE IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES. I WAS ABLE TO USE THE BASE AND STAND FROM MY OLD 3 BLADE FAN THAT IS A LASKO.
