Great product. I didn't think I would like the passive sub, but it sounds great. You can adjust the sub volume the same as the rest of the speakers.

Great value for the cost. It works very well in a 16 x 25 room.

This system is everything i had hoped for, and more. Easy to set up, and the sound is great! I'm still learning the features it provides for placement of the speakers, etc. I have it connected to my big screen HDTV, along with the Pioneer DVD upconverter. It does make a difference using a (not included) HDMI cable. The sound, and picture quality is perfect. I'm not a couch potato, but when i finally sit down to relax in the evening, i am more than happy with this purchase. Music, or a movie, what an experience!

This unit is a good sounding unit for the price. It does take some tweaking of the many different sound settings, in order to get it to the way YOU like it, since everyone's listening preferences are different.
Easy set-up with color coded wires and connectors, wires are not hard wired into the speakers, which is nice when you need to run longer wires for the rear speakers.
I would recommend this unit for the general user that is looking for a low priced, good sounding surround sound system.
Good sounding unit, with plenty of pre-set surround sound setting choices to choose from (Dolby PL, Dolby Digital, Music, Movie, etc)

I have always heard that Pioneer brand products were good, so thought I'd give this a try. It far exceeds my old generic sound system and it has lots of settings to choose from, which is somewhat daunting, but if patient you can work through them all to suit your taste in surround sound features. I am very pleased with this purchase. I should mention that Wal-Mart's shipping is becoming speedier than I remember, I'm happy with that too!

This home theater system was a breeze to set up. I had it up and rocking in 30 minutes. There is alot of options to change the sound settings to your liking. Great Pioneer quality and sound. Awesome setup for the price!

This is a great product for movies and light music listening. It goes pretty loud, sounds pretty clear, and has a fairly easy to use interface. I like the fact that you don’t need the remote to operate this unit. I love that you can tune in radio stations with a dial like the good old days.

Listening to music regularly on this unit though is a real bummer. There is no built in eq, the speakers are small and sound tinny, and the sub is un-powered reverb machine with no crossover controls on the either the sub itself or the receiver. I have a 10 year old, cheapie JVC bookshelf stereo that sounds way better than this on music.

On balance, I would still recommend this unit as a great value for the money if you mostly want this for movies, games, or TV. Please don’t bother with it though if you are an avid music listener, because you will be bummed. Actually, don’t bother with HTIB units at all if you are in to music. I learned my lesson….

I HAVE THE MATCHING HDMI UPSCALING DVD PLAYER AND WHEN YOU WATCH ANY MOVIE IN DTS OR DOLBY 5.1 DIGITAL SURROUND, YOU HAVE BETTER HAVE YOUR SEATBELT ON! THIS UNIT HAS THE PUNCH TO MAKE YOU "FEEL" THE ACTION, ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT WHEN THE MOVIE IS OVER, I HAVE TO GO STRAIGHTEN THE SUBWOOFER BACK UP, AS IT TURNS ITSELF AROUND FROM THE VIBRATION, BUT THE SOUND IS CLEAN AND VERY LOUD, AND THE DIGITAL DECODING GIVES YOU THE TRUE MEANING OF "SURROUND SOUND"-YOU WILL HEAR WHAT THE PRODUCERS INTENDED FOR YOU TO HEAR. THIS IS WORTH EVERY CENT AND THEN SOME. AND FOR YOU TECH JUNKIES, NOT ONLY DOES IT USE HDMI HOOKUPS, BUT ALSO HAS THE FIBER OPTICAL AND COAXIAL AS WELL.
