So I'm sitting here holding my favorite coffee cup filled with freshly brewed coffee from my new pot. Yes, I've only owned it about an hour but I feel compelled to share my experience.
I must admit that I read each review, both for and against this pot, before actually owning it. I was wary of the posts that said the countertops were covered with water after making a pot or that the pot was filled with grounds, etc., so I paid close attention to each complaint as I ran a full 12 cup pot of water through to test so that I could still return it if it didn't work.
I put the water exactly at the 12 cup line and when it was done percolating, it was EXACTLY at the 12 cup line on the pot again. Very cool! My last pot lost a few cups in the translation which was very irritating. Not this one!
I love the basket and how it is flat. I love the arm that swings over the basket when ready to brew and slides back out of place when ready to empty the grounds. I know I won't be seeing grounds escaping the filter any more! (I never did understand those cone shaped filters)
I am perfectly happy with a pot that has no bells and whistles. I had a pot for years that could program the time to auto make a pot and never used it once so if you are like me, this will suit you just fine. I don't need it to auto turn off after 2 hours (a feature not on this machine) since I shut it down when the pot is done dripping. I can reheat the coffee in the microwave!
Mmmm. I'm going to start buying decaf so I can drink coffee and brew all day long after the initial pot to wake me up.
Thank you, Mr. Coffee!!!

Review 2 for Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Switch Coffee Maker
This is my third purchase of the same unit, and only purchased the whole unit vs the replacement caraffe when I accidently chipped/broke the caraffe. The unit costs just a little more than the caraffe, and after many years of use, the units start showing defects and electrical switch issues. The old used units can be recycled and should be as I do this. For the low price, the unit is a great buy when buying the first time or replacing an old worn unit. The caraffe purchased as a replacement for a gently used unit is a smarter buy. I just choose to replace the unit after years of use when I chip/break my caraffe. I do however, keep a new spare caraffe just in case...

Junk. I bought this coffee pot for my wife. It lasted less than a month and then quit working. Mr. Coffee has really gone down hill. Taking it back to Wal-Mart ASAP.

Good Work Mr. Coffee!

My roommates and I have had this coffeemaker for over 2 years. It still works just as well as when we first got it. It is not fancy--it will turn on and off, that is about it, but who needs their coffeemaker to do more, especially for $18? The inside of it is convenient--the water spout will swing aside so you can fill the basket, the basket comes out so you can dump grounds. The ONLY thing to watch is the air holes on the water tank--when you pour in the water, just make sure you aren't pouring the water out the back of the machine through these air holes. I recommend cleaning it twice a year by running 1 part water and distilled vinegar through the machine, then running a clean pot of water through. The pot itself isn't even stained after 2 years!

Review 5 for Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Switch Coffee Maker
I've only had this machine for about 2 weeks, so this favorable review may be a bit premature, I don't know. However, I have used it everyday since to make the full 12 cup servings and have had no problems yet, and found the macine and accessories easy to keep clean after using. The price and ease of use make this coffee maker a great buy for those on a budget. Again, like I found when I purchased the smaller 4-cup coffee maker, to actually get 12 cups out of this machine you must drink a 5-6 oz. cup, which are basically the size of doll house tea cups, and I'm not sure how many people still drink cups of coffee that sized any more, especially after frequent visits to WaWa's and Turkey Hill's, where just a small cup is already 12 oz. So I drink about a 24 oz. size cup of coffee and get 3 cups of coffee out of it, but for a single person, it is quite enough coffee for one day's worth of caffeine.

Review 8 for Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Switch Coffee Maker
I broke my other Mr. Coffee unit and bought this one for my morning coffee. Yes, it is their low-end unit but it works great and gives me my morning coffee quickly. I may get a fancier one in the future, but for now, this works fine for me and the price was great.

DON'T BUY... unless you only need to use it for a couple of months. I have bought 3 of these in the last year! The heating element and pump burned up in all three. Coincidence? I don't think so! Like they say, fool me once... twice... thrice... SHAME ON ME! Where is the reliable "Mr. Coffee" we knew & loved!?!?!?

An excellent, simple and basic coffee maker. A very affordable machine without all the 'bells and whistles'. I got it because it was available in the color 'black'.

I bought and returned this unit. I didn't like the single water outlet that tends to wet only a small amount of coffee to start with, I did like the simple on/off switch. I tested a Delonghi 12-Cup Programmable Drip Coffee Maker, DCF6212TTC I bought the Hamilton Beach Scoop 2-way Coffee Maker

Review 17 for Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Switch Coffee Maker
We have been using cheaper coffee makers for a number of years. This last one spit hot water at you when you raised the lid to take out the grounds. This one has the water outlet just above the basket, eliminating that problem. This coffee maker makes a pot in less than 10 minutes, and keeps the coffee hot for a long time. My wife is very pleased and so am I.

Review 18 for Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Switch Coffee Maker
It works good, like all do. Haven't had itlong enough to know how long it will last. Only con I can see, there are 2 holes in the back and if you fill it a liitle over 12 cups, it will leak onto the counter top. It also seems to retain some of the water inside.
