The Nikon 16 x 50mm Action Binoculars have a multicoated, high resolution, aspherical lens system to give you an extremely clear, distortion-free image over the entire field of view. The advanced eyepiece design also offers substantial eye relief for eyeglass compatibility. Multi-layered anti-reflective lens coatings deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true color rendition and flare-free viewing. The diopter control compensates for common left eye/right eye vision imbalance. These binoculars are built on an all-metal chassis housed in a tough, lightweight polycarbonate body shell.

Of coarse Nikon is going to be a good clear optic… But a side by side comparison with my old cheap $30 Tascos could not justify the huge difference in price..
I do a lot of star gazing and the moon was just as clear looking through my Tascos as it was with the Nikons. . I ended up taking them back after the first 20 minutes of looking through them.. I intend on buying an upgraded pair of Tascos and saving well over $100

I wanted a good binocular for a reasonable price. I purchased a Meade 16x50 and it was awful, blurry, could not focus I returned it. I then purchased a Bushnell 16x50 it was good, but I was not satified, and I returned it also. I then purchased the Nikon 16x50 and it is great, I love it, images clear, good focus. I dont know anything about binoculars, but the images are clear and bright is this binocular.
