and now this player is good for nothing more than listening to the radio. everything I download to it says "synchronize to continue music subscription" even on cds I own.
Google that phrase & sansa before you buy this and you will find tons of other users who are having the same problems. :( I'm returning mine and getting a Zen

I loved the mp3 player for the 1st 6-7 months now it's a piece of junk! I have to move the earbud plug around to get sound and now I can't get the USB cord to work so I can't download music. Sound will only come out of 1 earbud no matter if you buy other earbuds only 1 will have sound. I really wished I had bought the warrenty. My son has had a Sansa for 3 years and it's still perfect so I didn't think I needed one. I would buy another product if I was you.

I like the Samsung View 8GB MP3 Player, but I don't love it. Here's why; Yes, it is cool, but the battery life is pretty short, or at least mine is. I can listen to it 10-20 minutes a day for 3 days, making sure it is off when I am done, and the Player will be pretty close to being dead. But, I did like it because it arranged my music in the same way that I had it in my computer. The screen is wide and it gets amazing sound quality. Plus, the voice recorder is pretty clear, so it is very useful. So, yes, this is worth what is paid for it, and I think that you will enjoy it as much as I have.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN JUST MY SANSA, BUT THE BATTERY WAS HORRIBLE. I CHARGED IT ONE NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING, AFTER SIX HOURS OF WORK, IT DIED ON ME. I HAVE TAKEN THE ITEM BACK AND RECIEVED A FULL REFUND MINUS A DOLLAR. IN REALITY, I ACTUALLY REGRET RETURNING. OH WELL, TOO LATE.

Sansa MP3 Problems,

I bought this MP3 player as a gift for a friend in Thailand. It seemed like a really good deal, but like all really good deals there were problems. To use this player you have to install and make a account with Rhapsody. If you are in Thailand the free account deal that is supposed to come with the player is not available so I could not set up an account and could not load anything onto the player. The player does look pretty cool, but using it is much more troubling and I did not see any of this issues mensioned in the ad provided by Wal Mart. All of this has left me a little disappointed.

This is a nice and user friendly product. The sound is lound and good! I bought this for my boyfriend who did not even know what an MP3 player was and is not a computer person, but he caught on quickly and downloaded music non-stop for the first week - he LOVES it!!
The only bad thing is, it does not come with a belt clip or any type of holding pouch. Your pocket works, but not ideal.

After reading so many "glowing" reviews for the Sansa View, my wife and I decided to purchase the MP3 player for my father-in-law for Fathers Day. I own the itouch, and honestly, I did not expect it to match up with that product - and it doesn't. Our reasoning for NOT going with an ipod was it's dependency on itunes, and quite frankly, my father-in-law isn't great on the PC. He previously owned a Dell DJ for years and very much enjoyed the player, and used it virtually everyday. It finally died a few months back, and the wife and I have been researching MP3 players ever since, as the Dell DJ is no longer made. Our decision to go with the Sansa View was based upon three main requirements that my Father-in-law asked of us....
1. Ease of use 2. Long-lasting battery life 3. Going with a flash drive player to aviod "lock-ups" and crashes"
The reviews online for the View all praised it for these three things...
Sadly, this is not necessarily the case. He's had the unit for about three weeks now and we've got about 7 of the 8GB's filled with MP3's only. No photos or video.
The battery - on a full charge - lasts about 5 hours, which isn't horrible, but is nowhere near the 30 hour life it advertises.
The unit is fairly easy to use, but the shortcuts to various options and menus are confusing. There are too many ways to accomplish the same things, and it's confusing to those that just want to play and shuffle his/her library of music.
Lastly, and most importantly, the player seems to crash fairly often. When this happens the only way to get it to respond is to power it down. My father likes to play music off the playlists he creates, and the unit does just fine if you do not attempt to interrupt it while it's playing the songs on the list. If you try to add a song, or repeat a selection - it pretty much "locks up", and you're back at aquare one. After you power it back up, you're hearing the same selections you've already heard on the playlist. Go to skip to the next track, and you lock up again. Frustrating.
Bottom line is that the folks at Apple have really cornered the market with the ipod and itouches of the world. Their players are just better suited to perform on all levels of usage. It's too bad you have to rely on their software (itunes) and your PC or laptop to get the most out of the devices.
The father-in-law is living with the Sansa View, but he's truly missing his Dell DJ.

Received the MP3 just before teenager's birthday. She was very excited. We charged the unit and added music. She loved the screen and the controls. It has a lot of nice features. Then the battery died after about two hours. It was supposed to last about 24 hours! After that, she could not recharge and the unit would not hold a charge nor would it sync to add any more music. We had to return it - bought online and took to store. The customer service at the store was excellent, but we did not reorder this MP3. I had seen a review or two about this problem but hoped it wouldn't apply to us. So much for my high hopes.

I thought I was getting a nice mp3 player, but after downloading my songs, the player began freezing and I had to turn it off and turned it back on again. Did that about 3 or 4 times. Only had the player about 2 weeks. Should not have had to do that; as much as it cost in my book!! I returned it. Now I debating on getting another one from your store.

I have not chosen mp3 players suited for me or my music downloading abilities, historically... so I was almost always disappointed in the past. I found my previous choices to be too over my head. It was important to me this time to find something extremely easy to use so I read tons of reviews. I was also looking for something with a reasonable price since I expected to be completely dissatisfied like I have been in the past with mp3 players and would therefore be shopping for another new one almost immediately. I must say that this sansa view is exactly what I have been looking for. It's simple enough for my 7 year old child (who taught me how to use it) and also very reasonable. I use it frequently and find I can listen heavily for about 2 days without charging. I am surprisingly satisfied. I think the search is finally over!

This is my first MP3 player and I love it! I find it easy to download music, videos, and photos. The Sansa View has great sound quality and is simple to use. I like the feature that allows me to be able to record music from the FM radio also. I went to the Sandisk website and printed a copy of the users manual and found it to be very helpful. The only negative comment I can say about the Sansa View is that the earbuds that come with it are uncomfortable and we went out the second day and bought a better set of earbuds which was a big improvement to both comfort as well as sound quality. This was a suprise gift from my husband and I couldnt be happier with his choice of the Sansa View.

I am a Sandisk/Sansa person completely. I started purchasing their players from the beginning because I could not justify $300 for a comparable iPod. The BIGGEST trick to keeping your Sansa running smoothly is to download and install the Sansa Updater software. This free offering from Sandisk keeps your player's firmware up to date and humming along. No special software is needed to load music, photos or album art. If you can use a jump drive, you can use this player. IF the player freezes, FORMAT the player. Since it acts like a jump drive, it is very sensitive to file fragments left behind from loading/unloading.. but I have only had to format one Sansa after 3 years of usage.
