I absolutely love my Bissell Proheat 2x healthy home carpet cleaner, I was pretty much convinced that I would have to buy a new carpet and for some reason one day I decided to a buy a carpet cleaner and see if I could salvage my carpet even though the professional cleaners couldn't do the job. I couldn't believe the results I got, my carpet is so vibrant and fluffly looks brand new, I have never been so happy with a product as I am with this carpet cleaner. I included a pic of a small area I cleaned and you can see a huge difference between the clean spot and the horrible dirtiness of the areas around it, those areas are not just as clean :)

This cleaner has great suction and cleans great. Use the light cleaning mode though, I put it on high traffic area, and it went through a whole container of cleaning solution, then I had to rinse and rinse to get out all the soap. I do wish it had 2 separate tanks instead of one inside the other. The despensing tank is a soft rubber bag or bladder that is inside the vacuum tank. Kind of a pain to empty and refill. If the tanks were twice the size would be much better, but it does clean fantastic.

I just purchased this product about a month ago. I read a lot of these reviews when I was looking for a good carpet cleaner. We just purchased a house from a couple who had 2 dogs. Evidently, they kept them in the house. I hired a professional carpet cleaning company to come out and clean my carpets. They could not get the pet stains and smell out. Because of these other reviews, I ordered this Bissell ProHeat 2X, and let me tell you; these people did not lie. I cleaned 4 rooms of carpet and WOW!!!. Every stain and smell came out. I didn't have to do extra cleaning or scrubbing. I just used the machine as instructed and I am amazed. It is worth every penny and then some. I highly recommend this machine to everyone. Some said it used a lot of shampoo. I only used 1 bottle (had a little bit left over) for 4 rooms. I just can't say enough about this machine.

Great product, took out coffee stains in car from a long time ago. Would work better if used immediately after spill or grease stains show up. Also helpful to read the bottle on the 2x strength soap so you don't use too much soap!!! Can't wait to try it on home. Also, check your local store to see if they carry it. I found out after I purchased my product online that it was sold in the store and for almost $10 cheaper than online.

I did some professional carpet and furniture cleaning in my early days so I know a little about this stuff. If you want an appliance that's easy to use, easy to store, easy to clean up after and does a pretty good job, this is your unit. If you demand a deep down cleaning every time you clean your rugs, and don't want to refill the solution and water containers after about 10 sq. feet of cleaning, don't spend the money. It does a good job with surface dirt, pet stains and everyday foot traffic - even gets out some food/drink stains without scrubbing but the cleaning solution bottle is way too small and so are the water reservoires. Watch out for the furniture attachment too as every time you bump into it while pushing and pulling the unit across the carpet, it falls out. Secure it with some wire and save some aggravation.

This model is so much better than my old Bissell Steam Pro-Heat and cleans better. However, as others have mentioned, it goes through the cleaning solution like crazy. I only cleaned the heavy traffic areas in my family room and dining room and went through 1-1/2 of the large bottles of cleaning solution and had to be dumped, it seems, a lot more than the old model.

With two dogs and a four year old, my carpets were looking dingy and stained. This deep cleaner is amazing at getting out stains that my other cleaner could not clean. I have a "spot bot" and had given up on getting out a stain from dirt from a spilled plant. The deep cleaner got it out on one pass! After vacuuming the carpet twice this cleaner still gets out residual dog hair and conveniently balls it up to be thrown away. I would recommend this product to any household with a child and/or pets.

I purchased the Bissell Proheat today and put it to work as soon as I got home, it was easy to assemble and its performance far exceeded my expectations. I live in the Sierras with the red soil and when tracked into the carpet, it stains. The Proheat 2XR didn’t leave a trace behind. The heat function does the trick for deep cleaning and quick drying. Easy clean up makes carpet cleaning a little more tolerable… Reasonable price and appears to be constructed well so I’m hoping for a long lasting machine. I would recommend this machine to anyone who wants a professional job for a reasonable cost.

When we moved into our new home I wanted to clean the carpets because the previous owners had dogs. We had an old Hoover steam cleaner and it did not work at all. It didn't have any suction and did not remove any dirt or hair. My mom and sisters all have the bissel so I went an bought one. I love it! It sucked up huge hairball and the water was black after cleaning one room. It got what the hoover left behind. It brought up the matted carpet and made me feel so much better about letting my small children lay on the carpet. It sucks the water out really well so the carpet dries quickly. I was also happy that it came with all of the attachments. Best steam cleaner that I have used.

I purchased the product on June 8, 2009. I am returning the product to Walmart on June 22, 2009. I could not, after following all instructions, get the water/sprayer to work together. The dial that is suppose to turn (to let you know the machine is working properly) stopped after 3 weeks. I believe it is an engineering defect. The spring in the container that holds the chemical cleaner does not work. The "warm" air that is suppose to help dry the carpet is worthless. The one shot sprayer, does not work (which I think is related to the spring mentioned earlier). I really liked the machine when it was working properly. I will try another machine model or change manufacturers.

LOOKED like a good unit, cleaned reasonably well. Fell apart after third use, unreparable. Bearings seize then heat from the bind melts the housing. A co-worker had the same problem. Both were not reparable. Also, "powered"brush attachment does not work very well. Looks cool though. Do not buy.

This is a very good carpet cleaner. It does what it is supposed to do. Better than the professional cleaner we usually rent from homedepot. The hot air is very helpful for quickly drying the carpet. There's a lot of good features. Just by looking at it I thought it is complicated to use, but once you read the manual, it is a no brainer. The operation is almost just pressing the button and your ready to go.
The tools are nice too, it comes with different sizes of hand vacs for carpet thre's one for hard floor too. What amazing is the turbo brush that has a rotating brush tha allows a better cleaning stroke on the carpet.
Overall, I love this unit. it is worth the money. I'm sure you would love it too.

The Bissell ProHeat 2X(R) CleanShot Upright Deep Cleaner did a great job of getting my carpets clean. They now look new again. One thing I did find with this cleaner, though, is that sometimes after refilling the cleaning solution tank and replenishing the clean water tank, the cleaner would fail to immediately dispense cleaning solution. This was corrected by simply turning off the cleaner, letting the motor wind down, then turning the cleaner back on.
In addition, I returned a Bissell PROdry Carpet Cleaner 8350 to Walmart, which did not do a good job of getting my carpets clean, and bought the Bissell ProHeat 2X(R) CleanShot Upright Deep Cleaner at almost twice the price of the PROdry cleaner; however, the ProHeat 2x(R) did a terrific job of cleaning the carpets.
