I have a hair-styling salon in my home and have carpet in most of the room. I had just cleaned the carpet in April and thought it looked pretty good but when I used my new Bissel on it this past weekend (mid August), I was amazed at how much mud showed up in the water! It looks and smells much better now and I can hardly wait to see how it does on my off-white carpet in the house.
The only thing I didn't like was how often I had to empty the dirty water and fill the solution container. Oh, well, I like the machine.

I have owned mine for 2 years. The first time I used it I was thrilled. It cleaned my carpet better than any other I have ever owned. BUT I have only used it 3 or 4 times and now it won't do any thing but vacuum. It won't spray water on the floor or through the hose. The cleaning solution doesn't work either. I do not suggest this cleaner for anyone. For the price you have to pay for it,it shouldn't have problems after being used only 3 or 4 time.

I haven't had it for a very long time, so I don't have a comment on durability. I rented a carpet cleaner prior to this one arriving, and the rental did an average job at cleaning. Once my new carpet cleaner arrived I used it to clean a carpet I had already cleaned with the rental. It left my carpet noticebly cleaner, and got up so much dirt that it actually pulled some dirty fibers from the carpet. I'm very please with the results, and eventhough the rental doesn't have to be filled up as often, this carpet cleaner did a much better job!

I was looking for a cleaner to use on the beige carpets of my apartment. I have a dog (dobermann pinscher) and the small yard on my apartment is pretty muddy. The cleaner did everytime I expected and more. My carpet is like new. My only issues are ..
My dog sheds a lot. The hair bunches up and the cleaner spits out sporadic hair balls that I have to pick up by hand.
If I had a large area to use it, I imagine it would take quite a few refills.
Overall.. It's a great cleaner. It leaves the carpet dryer than the ones I've rented from grocery stores and I'd recommend to anyone.

This is my first steam cleaner purchase. After long deliberation I selected this model based on user opinions and a few reviews. I've been pleased so far.

This an exceptional carpet cleaner!! It is easy to use and cleans very well. The carpet in our home had been cleaned "professionally" a year before and there were several spots that didn't come up. I used this cleaner and those spots are no longer there. The carpet looks great. The ony thing that I would recommend is using a different carpet solution than what comes with it. It doesn't clean as well as a solution that we got at Lowe's. If you have kids or pets, this is perfect for a whole room cleanup or spot cleaning.

This machine out performs any carpet cleaner I have ever used. It spots, scrubs, and cleans effortlessly. I is well built and designed for very easy clean-up and maintenance. It is semi-lightweight and easy to carry up and down stairs. The machine also comes with a wide selection of cleaning attachments that are very useful as well as functional. I would recommend this carpet cleaner to everybody, especially those who have been let down by their expectations of different makes and models.

After having had a Hoover carpet shampooer for years, I decided to purchase a new shampooer. I read the reviews for the Bissell and was impressed with this one. I have used it and can honestly say I am not disappointed in my purchase. This machine cleans so much better than my old one, even when it was new, and the carpet dries much faster. It would have taken me three days to shampoo my living room and dining room with the Hoover. My living room is large and I always move all the furniture when shampooing. I was able to shampoo the entire living room and dining room in just one day. I love this machine!!!!!!

I was pleased with the result. I cleaned after a professional company, which had cleaned and left some brown water marks on my beige wool carpet. I flushed and flushed the area, sucked up the results and then went over it again with the spot cleaner and shampoo, but lightly. It worked beautifully. I was able to suck most of the water out and the carpet dried quicker than the professional companys did. No more "professionals."

It cleans the carpet nice,, but my problem is it breaks a belt everytime i use it. The belt doesnt cost much ,just a aggravation to make sure you have a belt on hand or having to stop cleaning the carpet to go an by a new belt.

I had 3 kinds of shampooers in 26 years and Bissell clean shot is the best so far.
The troubles I had with the other 2 and things I like to see in the clean shot.
The first one is Kirby. Don't wast your mony. It did not clean deep down and changing the hose was a pain. Carpet was wet for 2 days.
The next one was a Hover. If you drop the handle the hose inside would rip.For the water to come out up in the brushes gets clogs up and then it does not spray evenly.To clean it out to spray you have to take out the brushes and you can break them easy.
My clean shot I love it so far the best. The only trouble I see so far is the blatter mouth gets deformed.Even when I don't use the heater. The only other thing is I wish for the clean spotter would come out in a spray then a stream. I love the handle to move it around. I have white carpets and other light colors ones. I have dog oh no's at times. If you take it at a snails past it gits my carpets like new. You have to give it a some time to start to get the water up and for the 2 bushes to clean the carpet good.I take it very slow 3 times and by the time I get done with my 2nd row the other one is dry.I get out about a much water i put on my carpet. If it takes more then 2 hours to dry you are going too fast or putting too much water on. It does take me more then a day to clean a room. I had done it this way with the other two cleaners. But I get out dirty pathways better. I clean it when I git done with a room. I love how the hair I miss with the sweeper kicks out from the back and not so much in the shampooer.

This is a fantastic machine.
We have rented commercial steam cleaners in the past, and this machine does a FAR better job of cleaning carpets than they do. This machine is a lot lighter than those too, so it's much less tiring to use than a commercial steam cleaner. Also, a lot quieter.
Really no negatives to speak of.

This is a "Top-of-the-line Bissell product. Looks great! It cleaned very well, and it sucked up the water just like it was supposed to, but I kept finding lots of water on the floor after it had been sucked up!! I couldn't figure out why this was happening, until I looked under the machine and discovered water pouring out of the bottom. This was the very first time I had used the machine since taking it out of the box and assembled it. Needless to say, the machine was returned to the store. I didn't want to take the chance on getting another one, as I didn't want to assemble another one only to possibly go through the same problem. You would think for the price of this machine that it would do what it is supposed to do without problems right out of the box! Wal-Mart was very understanding and courteous about the return, and they did not give me any hassle about the return. I always keep my receipts, especially on big ticket items. So, save your receipts!! It's too bad about this Bissell, because it looks great, it cleans well, but who wants it to LEAK?

This machine actually works remarkably well. The assembly was very easy. the machine is easy to handle and it is relatively quiet while working. the carpet looks amazing after being cleaned. I have rented the professional carpet cleaner that is available in food stores and this compares just as well in cleaning capacity. The only down fall that I see is that the parts are flimsy and it appears that they would be VERY easy to break, and then what...other than that, great product

I purchased this floor cleaner after researching many machines and reading reviews. I found it very easy to use, the directions are clear, and after doing one floor you will find it a simple machine to operate. I used it on rugs and my tile floor. Your rugs take very little time to dry which is nice. The plastic does seems a little flimsy on the water tank. It cleans carpets and floors great! I'll need to purchase the hard floor attachment as it won't suck up all the water good with the rug attachment on it. it comes with a lot of attachments, all but the hard floor one. It met all my expectations and I'm hoping it will hold up over time.

ive used mine for awhile now & i have 3 dogs & a hubby who tracks in dirt from work. i would recommend this for high traffic areas. it leaves the carpet damp but even the professionals leaves it damp when they clean the carpets
