I purchased this headlamp for hiking the mountains around the Phoenix area in the dark. I'm very impressed at how bright this light is. Other headlamps I've had just couldn't compare. Being able to change the brightness of the main LED comes in handy as I don't always need full brightness. This light is very bright and I was able to see it illuminating the mountain 1000 feet away!

I bought this light online for a hunting trip, almost everything works great. I like the versatility of this unit and all of the lighting options you have with the white LED’s. The main headlamp when on high, looks like a locomotive coming at you, in other words its bright, very bright. Since I bought it mainly for hunting, I knew I would need to use the red LED’s a lot to illuminate the trail in the very dark early mornings of the Colorado Rockies so as to not give away my location by using the white lights. I was somewhat disappointed of the brightness of the Red LED’s. I previously owned an Energizer head light that was less expensive than this one, which also had only 2 red LED’s but was considerably brighter than this one, I’d almost say twice as bright but not quite. I also didn’t like having a red light on the back of the unit since it would interfere with the vision of anyone walking behind me in the dark. So I just put a small piece of electrical tape over it but if I was using this light to ride a bike, the rear red light would be a great safety feature. I just wish you had the option of turning it off when not needed. I would definitely recommend this light, the main light is as bright as some units that cost twice as much.

I bought this so I can see whe taking my snow chains off at night. I already used it twice for other things. I added a hard drive to my desktop and could not see the port writing on motherboard and used it to see. Then I used it to see in the garage when the power went off becuase they were moving the power lines in the neighborhood. Fantastic. This is a must have for your car trunk or emergency box.

Great battery life, strong LEDs, fits very well.
One single complaint - the red LEDs are very weak. I have other headlamps with red LEDs and they are much more powerful.

i didn't do any comparisons or anything before purchasing this product. for the most part, im happy with the need this product fills. the only problem is that the battery pack digs into the back of your skull and becomes uncomfortable very quickly. they made an attempt to pad it, but it was a feeble attempt.

I specifically purchased my headlamp to attach to my kevlar helmet. I'm in the military and I am normally out late at night, unlike conventional headlamps I can't use white. We have to use red, green, or blue. It was very hard my to find a headlamp with the red led feature. The main reason i purchased it is for it's red led in the back and the blinking feature. When I'm on a range even if I'm standing in front of someone where they can not see my head lamp, they can still see the back and know I'm there. I love it battery life is great, weight when attached to a kevlar helmet is unnoticed. Only problem is that it's hard to find in stores.

This product is just totally awesome and cost effective, thanks to Walmart. Absolutely multi-functional bright lights and very comfortable to wear on your head. I would totally recommend this product to anyone who needs a durable headlamp to last even in the harshest conditions!

I've used virtually every LED headlamp available from Wal-Mart, which I use to work outside in trailers at night. It allows me to see all the way to the back of a 52' trailer, has great battery life, and is even bright enough to use as a utility light when I'm on the forklift. It's bright enough to light a path 100' in front of you, yet I only have to change the batteries every few weeks or so (at 25-30 hrs a week of use). It's great if you need your hands free to work, but still need to see clearly a good distance in front of you. Much better than dragging a maglite wherever you go, albeit less fashion-forward. Prepare yourself for minor ridicule if you wear it in public.
The different light settings are great-- you can use the smaller LEDs if you want to maximize battery life and avoid blinding other people, or you can use the flashing function for safety. Reliability seems good-- I've been rained on several times and it still works. The only caveats are that it seems to easy to accidentally adjust the angle of the actual headlamp, and it the battery box is fairly heavy and gets somewhat uncomfortable if you wear it for long periods of time.
Overall, a great product for a great price with very few drawbacks. I use mine constantly-- it's a shame that this is very difficult to find in stores.

Everything you might want in a headlamp. Six different brightness levels, incredible battery life, very comfortable and the brightest LED headlamp you will find for under $100. All comparable products cost at least 2 - 3 times as much.

This light is really amazing for less than $20.00.I have seen lights costing 4 or 5 times as much as this light that are junk.I see why wal-mart is always out of these online.I waited for a couple of weeks until they had these in stock so I could order mine,I am going to order several more this time.This light does more than I thought it could.Buy several.

This headlamp is far better than it's price reflects.
I primarily use this headlamp for caving. It has great
light output on any of the three 1wt led settings outperforming 40-60$ lights. The battery life is also very good on the 1wt. Using rechargeable s I have gone over 20 hours in a cave and only recharged because I didn't want to be surprised in the dark. I would recommend this headlamp for anyone needing a good amount of light and extended battery life.
