Picks up the dirty water!

No more breaking my back to clean the 700 sq feet of flooring in my house! with a husband who works outside all day and a dog that does the same my floors have always been a challenge for me to keep clean! I have many health issues and mopping, steam cleaners and plain old hands and knees scrubbing our now just a memory.
The floor mate goes together fast, stores compactly and is super easy to clean out, and rev up again! I would have wanted a larger capacity of fresh soapy water, but then the machine would be too heavy to push, so I think the size will have to do. Not hard to take out the bins, clean and refill.
Hear are some tips I learned from my friend who owns one:
Be patient at first, you may see streaks or dull looking floors, Why? we both found out our floors were WAY dirty and redoing a few times removes all dirt and things begin to look up! Keeping up with cleaning is easy with the hoover and so getting to it more often is key.
move the machine slowly over surface, give the brushes and water time to scrub.
Do small sections at a time 9if you have a large area) to make sure you do a thorough job. The machine is about 11' wide at the base, so that is the area you will work on with each swipe, you'll have a clean floor, with much less effort, in no time.
You can leave the brushes spinning over areas where there was a missed spill (like a drop or two of tomato sauce no one noticed!) and it'll get clean.
Using the vacuum to suck up the dirty water is the best feature. No more "steamer pads" to clean, and you know the dirt is getting lifted off the floor.
I really like the ease of this floor cleaner and the results are better than all my floor scrubbing efforts.
I saved up for two months to buy this item, it arrived quickly to my door and I've enjoyed using it these last two weeks.

I was a bit skeptical about the claims for this machine but after reading all the reviews I thought I would give it a try. I read more than one person who bought this machine for a 2nd time so that really convinced me to try it out. WOW. I had washed my floors the very day that I picked up the machine and decided to see if it really did pick up more dirt. Was I shocked to see how much dirt had been left on my floors. I used this on my laminate and tile floors and the results were amazing. I would not ever wash my floors with anything else. I have tried the steam cleaners the micro fiber and the swiffer. NO COMPARISON! Wish I could give this a 6 star!

While using the Hoover Floormate, the entire tank of dirty water suddenly and unexpectedly poured out from the bottom of the unit all over my floor. I had to wipe up the floor on

Don't waste your money

I took this back for a refund. I purchased this to clean a large area of tile flooring. The brushes were too soft and barely touched the floor, let alone the grout which of course is slightly recessed. I guess I'll continue to do it the old fashioned way - on my hands and knees with a scrub brush.

I'm glad I bought this cleaner. It is a fact that vacuum is not very strong, but the floor cleaner makes miracle! I have ever had such a clean floors before. It takes time to clean our 1700 sqr feet condo, but it's worth it ! I have clean floors for a week.

Saves your knees from scrubbing

So far I love this. I can even use it on my laminate floors (for vacuuming), it picked up the dust that I usually have to dry mop. I'm a little leary about using it to wash them because of the rotating brushes, but I will give it a shot soon. I used it on my tiled floors and works great for those, both the vacuuming and the scrubbing. My only problem, and it is a slight problem, is that when you vacuum you need to clean out the screen because it gets clogged. But it is easy to open and clean. Other than that I think I would give it 5 stars.

oh gosh, i never review, but here it goes. this unit is such a waste of time. when using, you have to continuously hold down a button to squirt out the water solution. then when you use the dry cycle, it dries with streaks from the brush roll. it dries ugly. when vacuuming, it doesnt have good suction, nor the ability to pick up anything around the edges.so you have to use a broom to sweep up around the edges of your room, then vacuum poorly. this whole machine was a huge let down.. i sooooo wanted it to be awesome! back to the store already

I must say this is my second Hoover Floormate and by far it is the best machine for cleaning hard floors. It is not so good at cleaning grout, but then I have not found anything that is good for that except scrubbing it on your hands and knees.
I did read some of the poor ratings. I just have to say, make sure that when you put the machine together that you push the handle on until you hear it click. If you don't do this, then it will not dispense the liquid correctly. You can tell if the trigger seems to not compress correctly. Once you have it together correctly, it works very well. I love this. It is a time saver and better than a mop could be. It is also very durable. I had my first Hoover Floormate for over 10 years before I bought this new one. The first one just wore out. I would buy it again and again. It is by far the best buy for your money and the cost is way less than anything made by Oreck. I had an Oreck floor cleaner that lasted 3 months and then quit. I had an Oreck steamer that worked for one floor steaming and then would not make steam. The Hoover Floormate puts them both to shame when you figure in the cost and the durability. Hoover is very durable and very affordable. I am not sorry that I replaced my Oreck with this much more affordable and durable Hoover.

This is my second Hoover Floor Mate. The first served me well for at least 10 years. Many improvements on the new model and easier to use. Does a very nice job on the tile and wood floors. Better then a sponge mop or crawling around on hands and knees with a scrub brush.

I have a 1000 sq ft porcelain tile kitchen floor and this is the first product that I have found that actually cleans the tile. It does not scrub deep enough to get to the grout, but it really gets the dirt off the floor. I am very satisfied so far ( I have only used it twice).

Just okay for the Workplace

I purchased the Hoover for the VCT floors at my dental office. My floors need to be cleaned almost daily and thought this would be a really good product. Well, it's just okay. For very mild dirt it works pretty well. But for the deep, ground in dirt that people track in everyday, it just doesn't work that well. I literally have to get down on my hands and knees and scrub my floors. Then I use the Hoover to remove the surface dirt that is left behind. Maybe this product is better for low traffic areas but definitely not for a business.

I have four small dogs so you can imagine my floor situation. I write this in the spring when everyone is shedding their winter coats. I mop my entire floor weekly besides the daily spot cleaning. My floors are white tile in most of the house and a floating floor laminate in the main living area. When I mop I change the bucket water at least 6 times. Still the day I bought my floor mate walking barefoot my feet would turn black in a couple of hours. My closet is full of sad mops that have failed me.
Things I expected:
Upon reading poor reviews I knew reading the directions would be essential which it was. This thing was my last hope so i had to make it work.
I assumed the machine would be throwing a bunch of water down and sucking it back up and thought I would be emptying it often. In this I was wrong! This machine is amazing! The work horse are the brushes and built in squeegee. Puts just enough water down to scrub when pushing sucking up the water when pulled back. After a good cleaning I used the dry setting and the floors were dry in minutes. That feature also kept the floors from streaking and my floors are also very dangerous when wet so this feature was awesome. The Floormate left my tile like a beautiful mirror when done. I was worried about the laminate but since the Floormate uses minimal water I feel safer using this machine than traditional mopping. In spite of the mountain of dog hair I am encountering it sucked it all up while washing. (I picked up the huge tumbleweed balls first though.) The vacuum isn't the greatest with anything heavier than dog hair though, but I didn't expect miracles in that area. The only thing this machine doesn't do is move my furniture.

This morning I did the barefoot test. My bare feet are clean! The house smells beautiful and I can actually sit on the floor and play with my pooches. I would give the Hoover Floormate ten stars if I could. It is made of plastic though which keeps it light. The durability remains to be seen.
