Tramontina 4-qt. 18/10 TriPly-Clad Stainless Steel Saucepan

I defy anyone to explain how this differs from the high-priced brand that begins with the initials AC, except that this is a fraction of the cost for the same quality.

Bought pan this to fill out the matching set; all based on recommendations from Cook's Illustrated. Couldn't be happier - nicely contructed, heats beuatifully, as heavy as I would expect this material & quality to be.

Got a good review in Cook's Illustrated as comparable to All-Clad but less expensive. So heavy! Fortunately it has "helper" handle. Pretty sure I won't burn anything in it because the heavy construction will hold heat on a low burner setting. I'm enjoying cooking again!

Great stuff. AllClad without the excessive cost. Virtually identical to the top rated but terribly expensive AllClad muliti ply stainless line. This is fairly priced at appx 1/3 the All Clad pricing. Excellent value and top flight performance on the stovetop. This comment applies across the Tramontina TriPly Stainless Gourmet line of cooktop ware. Not sure why anyone would buy All Clad with this virtually identical product line available at such attractive pricing.

The Tramontina Triply Clad pots and pans are a great product. The set that I purchased is equal to All Clad cookware at a third of the cost. The set was reviewed by Cooks Illustrated last month and to my surprised I found this fabulous set at Wal Mart. Bravo!!

Another great piece from Tramontina. I just wish they made more open stock pieces, since they are so similar to All-Clad, but without the All-Clad price.

I'm a professional chef and I love this saucepan; the only thing I would change is the shape of the rim: I'd make it more curved, similar to All Clad, for easier pouring. But that's not a big deal and for the price, I'll happily forego that little luxury.

This pan is very heavy, and may be hard for someone with wrist problems to handle. The pan is very thick and distributes the heat well. I also washed it in the dishwasher, without pre-cleaning and it came out very clean. The lid does not have an airvent as some of my pans do and this is a problem if you are trying to cook something quickly. The lid fits very well on the pan and also is a perfect fit for my 7 inch Sitram frying pan. The lid is all metal. I haven't noticed the handle getting hot while I cook, but since it is metal, I imagine this could happen if you were cooking for a long period. I think this is a good pan for the money, I'm tired of buying cheap, thin, pans only to have them warp, burn food, or fall apart. We are also trying to get away from Teflon and to only use stainless steel. The pan is a little costly but I think it is worth the money and the extra handle make it easy to pour off the water or to empty the pan. I also use this on a ceramic top stove and it heated very evenly and quickly.

High quality, attractive saucepan with even heat distribution and good performance on glass top stove. Very good value! It's a little on the heavy side (not a wimpy pan!) so the assist handle is very helpful. Cleans up easily. As I had to order this pan, sight unseen, from Walmart.com, I relied on the product reviews from others and wasn't disappointed. I used the free shipping from Walmart warehouse to our local store and it arrived in the time frame promised.

This pan is just as good as any comparable Allclad pan and at 1/3 the price. My only gripe is that the pan is the same diameter as the 3qt pan and therefore not stackable. No big deal just a minor inconvenience. The helper handle is a big help when the pan is full.
