We bought this one for my son in the Navy and I got it and formatted it NTFS and it works great. It comes formatted fat32 and ready to use, just plug it in and go. This is the second WD My Book drive that we have bought and we love them both. Our other one is a year old and it still works great. The picture shows it attached to my sons laptop in his room on base.
