This is a good / average ( file size) box to store medicines in....My dad is 86 and a diabetic who has a BIG sweet tooth......He also has Alzheimer's disease and adult ADD.....He is like a toddler on the go and always getting into EVERYTHING!......So this keeps him out of the chocolate, candy and anything else mischievous....I LOVE IT!...Lock is a little tricky but once you get the hang of it it's fine...Yes, i would recommend this product.

I've had First Alert products before, but this one is a disappointment.
The lock mechanism is flimsy and difficult to use- the key spins in the tumbler until it engages.
The lock itself is a poorly-constructed sliding hasp. Don't expect it to keep anyone out.
Look around and you'll find similar reviews.
I returned this product and looked elsewhere.

Purchased this for foster care needed a locking file box. This is perfect for what I needed but in no way is it heavy duty. Just a way cheaper option than the other locking boxes didn't need fireproof or water proof just a locking box. Couldn't beat the price of $15!

I read the reviews before I bought this and expected to be satisfied with the item, and I am. Wanted something for 'important' papers organized in one spot, not looking for a fireproof box.

This lock box was what i was expecting! It was actually a little bigger than I had originally thought but that's a good thing. However, I thought it was going to be made out to be thicker and more sturdy then it is, but it works great for what I need it. It wouldn't keep out a house burglar or protect anything from fire/water, but it's great for nosy roommates or nosy kids. Great to keep people out if they aren't willing to break it or show any signs of someone trying to open it. Great product for simple basic security for a good price!

I purchased this product for my elderly mother in law who lives alone. She has several care providers who come into and out of her apartment during the week and she was afraid of leaving her medication unsecured in a drawer. This box is the perfect size to hold several medicine bottles as well as light enough for her to travel with. She has no trouble using the box multiple times a day.

This lock box is not a sturdy one that would keep any burglar from it, but I didn't get it for that. I just wanted something economical that would keep snooping kids or irresponsible teens away from things I need to be there when I need them. The key takes some getting used to as to when it's locked and not, but it meets the need for which it was purchased and works great for what I need.

This is great for important files but; I am using it to hold all of my medicines as I am disabled and on several medications. I also use it for my important papers, like my birth cirtificate and for any court papers you may have this is another great use for this. I also have a space for a container to hold my spare change to keep prying eyes and hands out of it. It is fairly light to carry and easy to lock and unlock.
