My daughter recommended this book for my neighbor. They had just learned thier son is autistic.
Not knowing much about it, I purchased the book for her but when I got the book, I thought best to briefly to skim through the words to see if it would be worth passing on.
I could not put this book down, my eyes started getting heavy as it was late and time for bed. The short of it; this book ROCKS! It makes you laugh, it makes you cry as well as understand and know it took a lot of compassion for her through this tough journey.
Reading this book educated me more then I could have ever imagined on autism. I could not put this book down and was happy to pass it on to the neighbor. She stated the same feelings as I when she read this book! She felt it was awesome and helped her understand there is a window of time and her son is in it. Her excitement that she could possibly have a son that would speak to her and could possibly understand her words as well. The progress her son is making is unbelievable.
Jenny is not a doctor as she states in her book, but this book has a lot of unanswered questions and great information to put parents on the track of what it will take and how to go about helping children with autism. I wish I could thank her personally for this book though not for me, it certainly was the best gift she could give to parents and I feel the best gift I could give to a parent of an autistic child.
I have no problems telling anyone this is: A Must Buy Book!
