I ordered this particular item because of the reviews. It was so easy to use, like everyone said. But when I needed to transfer photos that I had stored on it I lost photos. My screen flashed and the hard drive froze. So I unplugged it and plugged it back in. The folders were still there but the hundreds of pictures I had inside the folders were gone. I stored photos on it often but had to quit trusting it after that.

Plugged the drive into the USB port on my PC, but the PC would not recognize the device ... tried everything, even called Seagate for help. No help. At one point, I finally did get the PC to recognize the device (not sure how), but I kept getting an error message when I tried to move my files over.

This hard drive is not only easy to set up and use, but it is also pleasing to the eye. Many mentioned the noise of the unit while it was working, but it is not noticeable. The price cannot be beat.

This product is wonderful. It has the virtual space I need without the physical space. It is a little larger than I wanted, but it is still small and fits well in an inconspicuous corner of my desk. Easy to transfer files to, and easy to plug in and unplug. Just plug in and go, no software needed.

The Seagate is easy to set up. Just plug in the USB and power cords and boot the computer. It is slim and doesn't takes minimal space and is attractive in appearance.
I am using XP for my OS and mainly backing up photos.

I opened the box, plugged it in and, in a couple of minutes, it was up and running. I have had it for two weeks, so it is a bit premature to say how good it will be over the long run. I think it should be just fine. I would recommend it to anyone.

Got this item as part of a system upgrade (More RAM,storage,etc.) Use the system for photo processing as well as video and audio work. Getting the big external allowed me to take all of my photos and a large part of the audio and video files I work with off of my system drive.
No problems with setup or operation. Did the Site to Store option and actually got the unit a day earlier than estimated.

This hard drive is fast and reliable. Works better than the 80 GB I bought in the spring of 07. I would recommend Seagate over any hard drive brand.

I am very pleased with my Seagate Drive for my computer, it is an excellent value, I am a professional photographer, and do a trememdous amount of photo work on the computer, using the seagate it hold thousands of photos, and frees up so much space on my computer, as well as the convience of having the files so handy to refer back to.

My son got a virus on my computer and I needed to back up my important files before I reformatted to get rid of it since nothing else had worked. I had already been wanting an external hd and had researched them a few weeks beforehand, so I knew that this one was the one for me. This one is an excellent value for what you get. I have absolutely no complaints and I've been using it for weeks. I backed up all of my important files from both computers on it and have also backed up all of my family photos. I have barely even touched the amount of space on this baby. The most important thing to me was to get the greatest amount of gigs for a really affordable price, yet I wanted something reliable. I read online reviews for several different ones and felt that this one came the closest to meeting my needs. I highly recommend the Seagate FreeAgent Desktop Drive 320 gig to anyone needing an external hard drive for personal home use!
