I bought this at a Wal-Mart store for my wife. I did like some of the features such as the lighter-plug charger cable (typically costs extra), the LED worklight, and on-off switch. This unit is fairly lightweight and doesn't always have enough output to start a Honda Civic, which shouldn't be that hard to start. It works if the car's battery is barely under its capability to start the engine (like if lights/power locks seem really weak), but doesn't seem to have enough if the battery is deeply drained (I tried it after the jump starter was completely charged the same day). It does provide enough juice to turn on the lights, radio, etc and probably works fine as a short-term power supply for a power inverter or cigarette plug powered electronics.

After buying a new Nissan in 2003, I have had problem after problem after problem with it. Most recently my less than 2 year old battery was not starting. I found this product online at Walmart.com and thought for the price it must be a joke. I went the very next day and bought it. It is simple to use. Charge it and it's ready to go. I have to use it on a daily basis. The built in LED light is amazing. I have never been more happy with a product. I HIGHLY recommend buying this product simply just to have. You cannot beat the price. Black and Decker means value! You will not be let down.

my friend had battery trouble at work and someone gave him a jump using one of these jump starters and it worked perfectly. I used mine when I got it on my truck and it worked perfect. I bought 2 of them one for me and one for my nieghbor (who helps me around the house because I am handycapped) and he loves it. For the price you only have to use it once and it payed for itself 10 fold. As I said, GREAT PRODUCT.

Great value for the money. As stated in the instructions it will gradually lose its charge over time. It took about a month of sitting for it to lose its highest charge. ...that's not to say it won't successfully jump you when not fully charged -but to keep it "topped off" one will have to hook it up to AC overnite.Other than that it is lightweight,and well thought in design.
