FROM THE MOMENT I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT I HAD TROUBLE. THE DVD FOR PUTTING IT TOGETHER DID NOT WORK ON PC OR DVD. AFTER ASSEMBLING IT MY FIRST KEG, MILLER LIGHT CONSTNLY HAD FOAM EVEN WITH THE PRESSURE BARELY ON. AFTER GETTING THROUGHT THE FIRST KEG AND HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SECOND KEG (LABATT BLUE LITE) I WENT TO MY LOCAL KEG DEALER AND AN ASSOCIATE CAME TO MY HOME TO LOOK AT IT. HE STATED HE HAD NEVER SEEN A KEG SET UP LIKE THIS, THAT IT WAS VERY CHEAP. AFTER PLACING A NEW REGULATOR ON MY TANK WE DETERMINED THE PROBLEM TO BE THAT THE TEMP WOULD NOT GO BELOW 48 DEGREES. HE EXPLAINED FOR BEER TO COME OUT W/O FOAM IT NEEDS TO BE AT 37 DEGREES OR LESS. I PLAN ON SENDING THIS BACK AND MAKING MY OWN. AGAIN, NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL

I recently decided to start kegging my home made beer rather than bottling. The bottling process is time consuming, not to mention the occasional bottle that doesn't seal properly tastes "skunky".
Kegging is a great option the problem is keeping it cold without surrending most of the space in that spare refrigerator. The Keg O Rater has been a good soultion.

The machine worked well out of the box with limited set-up. Small 2.5LB CO2 cylinder is difficult to get filled (I bought a 5LB tank from the dealer while waiting, so now I have the little one as a back-up). I added a higher quality regulator (monitoring the low pressure side, not tank side pressure) and a high quality 5/16" air line replacing the little tube provided. I added 8ft of 3/16" beer line to the very short line provided to reduce the foamy pours. I added a computer fan powered by an external hard drive power supply (Velcro taped at top left, blowing back against the cold plate). This unit tends to stratify without the air circulation (32 bottom/50 top). Requiring lower temp settings to cool the top of the keg and beer line than were possible with the existing thermostat. I started off with 1/2 keg. Temp issues may not be as significant with a smaller keg which sits lower in the unit. Foam will be troublesome if temp is not low enough (38 degrees) and the short beer line is used at brewery recommended pressure. However, for a very inexpensive unit it now works quite well for me.

My husband and I bought this as a wedding gift for ourselves and at first THOUGHT it was the best thing ever. That is until we bought our first 1/2 keg. When you put the 1/2 keg inside, the door WILL NOT CLOSE. It says inside the manual that it will hold a 1/2 keg... this is not true! So after some alterations (removing the door & moving the screws out, and adding more weather stripping for a seal), the door finally shuts. We also had trouble getting anything but foam. We made many adjustments and continued to get foamy beer. The second keg we filled turned out to be a nightmare. We hooked it up on a Friday night, and drank a few pitchers of (foamy) beer out of it. The next day the keg was EMPTY and had leaked the entire contents out and onto my carpet due to a LEAK IN ONE OF THE HOSES! I cannot return the product because we made alterations to the door... or I would! I would not recommend this particular product to anyone. Knowing what I know now, I would have bought an old refrigerator and made my own keg-o-rator. I hope this review helps, I wish I would have read more reviews before making my purchase. My keg-o-rator now sits in the garage... maybe to be sold at a garage sale some day.

The Keg O Rator Beer Dispenser is not worth the purchase price. I've had nothing but problems and haven't even tapped a keg yet. I can't get the unit to get cold enough to put a keg in. The door will not properly seal, letting cold air out. The cooling unit is dripping water. The company information number was no help. I'm going to try and return it this week. An appliance repair service quoted me $175.00 to get the unit working properly. Why should anyone have to pay for a repair right out of the box.

The kegorater arrived very quickly and was easy to put together but when we went to get the CO2 container filled our distributor wouldn't fill a small one so we had to buy the bigger one or wait the entire weekend to get started. It keeps the beer right at 44F but we really would like it colder so we will have to buy another thermometer, but after that it should be PERFECT!!

Got this for a friend as a wedding gift. He has had it for a few weeks now and it works great. Had to adjust the pressure to get the foam down, but now cold beer on tap is great(he has abita now and a full keg fits fine). I was suprised by the appearance. I would not be ashamed to have this in a brand new kitchen. Still new so durability is unsure, but I am very pleased with the initial tests and the setup dvd that comes with it is very helpful too.

I recently purchased a kegorator because I like beer. All in all this was a good thing until we wanted to put a 1/2 keg of coors light in and it absoluelty will not fit, no prob we do like others so now if we can only get the air set on the really chinsey regulator. we are on our second 1/2 keg and the only time it poured a perfect beer was when it was ready to kick. The manufacturer should really look at the dimensions of this product and make some room for what they say it dispenses, 1/2, 1/4 and mini barrels.

This product was awful. We followed the instructional DVD exactly how we were told (although the video was really not helpful at all) and the product did not even work. Also, when assembling the product, a piece on the coupler broke right off. I am really unhappy about this purchase, and am returning the product.

Although we've only had our kegorator for a couple of weeks, we are STOKED with it and it is the coolest thing to have brewery-fresh beer at your fingertips!
It remains to be seen about the "durability" factor, but price-wise and looks-wise it is as good or better than anything else we found. And we did a LOT of research!
The dvd that comes with this kegorator is priceless - the music is awesome :) It is helpful, though, so I shouldn't knock it...

After reading the reviews for this, I decided to puchase it for my fiance for Christmas, even though the issues others have had.
It does take quite a bit adjustment to get a glass of bear without tons of head on it, and I will end of replacing the regulator eventually but it is ok for now.
We did pull off the cover and adjust the thermostat to get the unit colder.
Overall I would recommend this product.

The process at Walmart in ordering this product and picking it up was excellent. The product itself I was slightly dissappointed in. The directions in putting it together were not very helpful and there were scratches and mars on the product itself. If this was not a Christmas gift I would have returned it for a new one and hopefully that would have been in better condition.
