Review 1 for Emerson 32" LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner, LC320EM8
Picture is just not good

I've tried DVD, Xbox 360, U-Verse HD, DishNetwork HD, and the picture quality is just not good. The movement is extremely blurry (think "Look Who's Talking?": remember when Kirstie Alley got pain meds in the delivery room and the baby got "psychedelic"?). When playing a racing gaming or first-person shooter, cars/enemies moves side-to-side with horrible ghosting. Black is somewhat gray, and dark images/movies don't look good. TV seemed ok in-store...
Remote is bad, too. Very weak IR signal and angle.
PROS: Has Sleep timer, sound is good, auto shut-off. Lots of inputs, but 3 HDMIs are useless with bad picture. Sturdy base. Light.

I researched flat screen tv's online by looking at reviews and must say I am not disappointed. I have had my tv for about a year now and it meets all my expectations. I was looking for a tv that had good quality and not too expensive. I am probably not the most picky customer - as long as the picture and sound is clear, I am happy. Thank you for all the reviews!

I was searching on the internet for a nice size t.v and I saw this t.v; was a good size for a good price. Went to Wal-Mart looked around for a minute to see if there was anything else that caught my eyes but didn't because I was on a budget anyway. I bought the t.v. and at first I really liked the t.v but there was one thing that I didn't look and that was the channels moved too slowly but I could deal with that. One night my bf stayed up late watching t.v all night and left the t.v on all night; woke up the next morning, turn the t.v off. I got up a little after him to watch t.v. the t.v wouldn't even come on. The power button kept coming on and going off. So I took it back to Wal-Mart and got my money back; didn't even have the t.v a good 2 months. Have you ever heard of a t.v going out that fast just from staying on all night. However, I am looking into getting another t.v.

Excellent TV

I'd been reading reviews about TV's for a long time and had even purchased a 42" Visio, but I returned it because of a poor contrast ratio and horrible standard definition picture. I bought this TV on the spur of the moment because of a great in store picture and price, and had it installed in near minutes after getting it home.
Great out-of-box picture. I literally had to do nothing to the picture for amazing picture. Picture is almost TOO sharp, but I have since adjusted that in the settings. I have noticed a little fuzziness on the side, but I think that was due to the show I was watching, because I haven't noticed it since. I've found that there aren't many remote codes that operate this TV. I haven't been able to find one to make my RC64r DirecTV remote power this tv.
XBox 360 looks amazing with component cables only.
Sound is actually really good considering the speaker size and wattage. I could hear things in Halo 3 like shells hitting the floor and echos that I could never hear on my standard definition TV.
Really impressed with this TV.

Review 5 for Emerson 32" LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner, LC320EM8
Very Disappointing

I purchased this TV on 9/24/07, and on 4/13/08, this TV simply stopped working. We turned it on, and a second later the picture faded, and the "stand by" light, which is usually on even when the TV is off, was not lit up. Unfortunately we are well past the return period for Walmart, so we attempted to take our Emerson TV to a TV repair shop. Upon arriving at the repair shop, they informed us that Emerson TVs cannot be repaired as Emerson does not sell repair parts. To fix it, we would have to ship our TV to Emerson then have it shipped back. Just a word of warning, if you are going to purchase this TV, don't make the same mistake I did. Get the extended warranty.

I just recently purchased this tv last week and i have to say if you are seeking a HDTV with outstanding picture quality and sound, this is the one, I use the tv to play my XBOX 360 & PS2 and i have to say they both play and look great on this tv. My parents purchased a sony for over a $1,000 and when they saw this tv they said Wow and went to Walmart and Purchased one for themselves. The HDTV channels look great on this tv and my daughters ages 17 and 8 loves it. Also the employees at the Walmart store in O'fallon Illinois where very very helpful

While researching LCD TV's, I discovered that most of the components are made by the same people. Given that information, price and features became the selling points. Side by side, the Emerson looks better than the Sony, which is far and away more expensive. For the money, you can't beat this television.

I was pleased with the easy set-up and great performance of this gem of a TV set. The picture is crystal clear and the sound fills our great room. We love the slim and lightweight case which, with a flexible mount I also purchased at Walmart, allows us to swivel the screen in any direction and tuck it neatly back in the book cabinet. Great value for the money.

I wasn't sure if I should get this, since it was such a great price, and I figured I would get a piece of junk in return. But low and behold it is actually great. The only two probelms I have with it is that it only has 1 DMI plugin. So I can only hook up my DVR and when I want to watch a DVD, I have to switch the cable to my DVD player. The second problem is that the picture on the sides of the TV kind of stretch out the things on them, meaning when a person is standing near the side of the TV on a show, it makes them look a lot wider than they are, but then the part of them that is in the middle of the screen looks normal...Very weird, but that could be how all TV's are, I think my Dad said his expensive one does that too. But overall, this was a VERY smart purchase!!! :)

I bought this product exactly one month ago yesterday and yesterday, it quit. I was watching it fine, turned it off to do something, tried to turn it back on about 30 minutes later and it wouldn't turn on. It starts to turn on then shuts itself right back off. Other than this little glitch the tv has been awesome and well worth the money. I am taking it back to the store tonight and will be getting another one just like it to give it another shot.

I have had this tv for a couple of weeks. So far so good. NO problems. Great size. I replaced my old 32" huge tv with this new one. I did not realize how big this tv was. It is like I am in a movie theater. I have this in my bedroom. I love it. If you are looking for a good priced tv, this is the one for you. I love it.

Broke after 81 Days

After having this television for 81 days it suddenly wouldn't turn on anymore. I've seen this in at least one other review about this television. You press the button to turn on the TV, it flashes to go on for about 1 second, then turns itself back off. Going through the trouble shooting with TV is useless, though I did try and nothing worked. While the TV was working we were happy with it. The picture was good and the sound wasn't too bad and it has nice features for picture selection. TV is going back to Walmart and I think I'll spend a little more for a brand name this time.

Good at first...

We purchased the Emerson 32" TV on January 23, 2008 as a late Christmas present to ourselves. And honestly, it started out wonderfully! A little confusing at first, but once we got the HDMI cables (which you WILL need), the picture was marvelous. That all went down hill about 3 days ago. Suddenly while watching TV, there was a big ugly box on the bottom third of our screen. We immediately called Emerson and the lady gave us instructions on fiddling around with the closed captioning features. She said that sometimes the C.C. will apear and you just have to turn in on and then off. Well her advice worked for all of 5 minutes and then the box came back again. So we called Emerson AGAIN and this time they said to send them all of our information so they could "see what we should do next". Maybe we just got a lemon, who knows, but as for now, we are going to bring the TV back to Walmart and get a different brand. The warranty is still good on the TV but I am the kind of person that feels that once a product breaks, it will do it again. And maybe next time it will break after the warranty is up (even though we did by the extended warranty from Walmart). You just never know.

Bought this tv about 6 months ago and it was the best $500 I have ever spent. Some local tv stations will have people speeking and the sound is not the same speed as there lips are moving I just turn it off and back on it seems to fix it. I thought it might have been a cable thing but I noticed another person has the same issue. Other then that this tv is well worth the money when I went to walmart to buy this tv it has the best picture in my price range of $700
