I have had this tv for almost 3yrs and its been the best tv i have had over my projection. It does use a little more power but thats what happens when you buy a big tv. I love the picture. It has a nice screen protector than getting a lcd or led which has no screen protector and if you touch those you could mess the screen, cause i have a smaller lcd in my bedroom and they are harder to keep clean to, unlike the plasma no matter how many scratches you get in the cover it will never affect the screen, which also has the anti glare. Something lcds dont have. So the only thing is the high price you waste on the warrenty that i havnt had to use. So great tv, couldnt have bought a better tv.

I bought this TV exactly a year and a half ago and suddenly it turned itself off right in the middle of a program. We tried EVERYTHING we could to turn it back on, but nothing worked. The 'On' light turns on as if the TV was turned on but the TV does not turn on. The best part is, we called the company and they sent us someone just to see what's wrong with the TV and it cost us $60 for the one 15 minute examination to tell us that we need to pay another $400 to get it fixed. I would NEVER recommend this piece of junk, and would never recommend this brand. This is my second Sanyo and I'm very displeased with this brand.

This plasma will shut itself off and it takes an act of congress to get it to turn on again. I try and try and eventually I have been able to turn the thing back on but now it seems to be history. I had left it on for the last month and turned the direct tv box off and it would flash a "no signal" that seemed to work for a while but the tv decided to turn itself off again. This time I am unable to turn it back on. I spent over $800 on this tv 2 years ago, now I have to get it fixed or dump it? What a piece of junk (that is not the word I wanted to use)...I am soooo mad. DO NOT BUY THIS TV

Good tv for the money

Just bought tv for Bday present to myself. looked around before buying this one. Paid $698. Can't beat the value for the money. I do not have HD cable, yet the picture is great. Blueray DVD picture is fantastic, clarity and color are unbelieveable. Component plugs on back are alittle weird, hard to read and find to use unless on your knees looking up, but once I found them everything worked fine. Overall, very pleased.

When I ordered the product I thought the TV was surround sound compatible. I was disappointed to say the least to find out the DVD had to be playing to get the surround sound. That's the reason for the less than good survey.

Sanyo TV worked well then the warrenty ran out.... i purchased this tv 11/07 and was a good deal for the price. But now the tv will not power on...green light comes on then nothing and it turns itself back off. i did not buy the extended warrenty because a tv should last more than 1 year and 5 months and i figured in 3 years i would likely be replacing it anyways. I called thier tech support. no help at all.. then says to call Mon - Fri 7-4pm central to reach USA assistance. I call them and they are no help. The lady gives me a supervisor who states.. this is 1 year 5 months old.. yes i am aware. I asked him if he bought this tv would he expect it to last over 1 year and 5 months. Harvey the sup says yes but i cant help you. So i read online for the issue i was having and lone behold.. So are many others. As soon as the warrenty is out the tv becomes a nice 50 inch mirror on your wall...

This TV worked great for the first 13 months. Then one day the TV would just turn off by itself. The green power light would still be on, but no picture or sound. Then about a month later, the TV would not turn on at all, again the green power light would come on, but picture or sound. I did not purchase the extended warranty, in which I have learned my lesson, but who would have thought that a $1,200 (what I paid in 11/07) TV would only work for 13 months! Please read the 6 or 7 reviews, that I seemed to miss when researching this TV, that basically complain about the very thing I am. Buyer beware, or make sure you spend more money on the extended warranty plan!

I bought this tv about a year ago and waited to write my review after testing it out. I must say this tv is great. I read all the reviews. I have never had a problem with any burn out images on the screen. No cutting off. Anything. The deep color of the picture is outstanding. The only thing you want to look out for is where you set up the tv. Too much light will leave a glare on the screen while watching.
Other than that, perfect. I suggest anyone looking to buy their first flat screen or just another one for another room to purchace this tv. LUV IT.

I bought this tv about a month ago, everyone told me not to buy a plasma, but I really liked the color.
I had a budget and wanted to get the most for my dollar. I really am happy with it. When I got home the pic was not like the store, my son adjusted the colors and the pic is great!!!! I will be getting hdtv and then it will be even better.......a good tv for the price!!!!!

this tv is great the contrast and colors are incredable i was going to get a 1080p lcd but the colors and black and white levels are so much better on a plasma I think even though this tv is only 720p it looks better that most 1080p lcd. alot of people say there is burn in problems with plasma but i wasnt thinking and left a blueray paused and left 2 hours later when i got home there was no burn in or anything only two down sides to this tv are there is no pc input but you can get a adapter for that and the other is regular tv isnt that great but its like that with almost all hdtv over all great i only paid 830 for mine I love it

I am very unhappy with the product that I puchased Sanyo 50" plasma screen TV). I love the size but hate the quality of picture it shows. I cannot even see clearly the people in the background when watching this TV set. I have probably watched the set about 3 times since purchased and it has been over a month. I plan on returning it back to Walmart and exchange it for a better quality TV set maybe a smaller inch.

I went to Walmart looking to buy a 1080P HD TV, my wife talked me into this model with the lesser resolution. The resolution is not the problem. After less then one month of casual use it has dead pixels. Little red dead spots on the screen.
I intend to return the TV to Walmart tomorrow and exchange it for another. Surely I won't get two lemons?
The remote also drives me crazy, the channel up/down is on the wrong side from every other remote in the universe. We often turn the channel when intending to change the volume.

Value : $828.00 for a 50'' plasma o yea..
Meets Expectations: yes very happy with this tv
picture quality: excellent , but you need HDMI cords for a 50'' 720p . and cant sit closer than 7/8ft. from the tv before it turns blockie/blurry if you are sitting closer you need a 1080p . i sit 10/11ft. with HDMI cords and its excellent
Sound quality: was ok just average speakers
Features: are good just the basic's a little extra stuff like the white pattern that really works great .

the only thing i dont like are the burn-in's but what hdtv doesnt get burn-in's , just make sure when you get done watching your tv before you leave your house or go to sleep . just put the tv on a timer for 30 min's then click menu and select white pattern it will run with the 30min's then turn off.
overall: i love my sanyo tv
o yea dont be afraid to buy cause its so low in cost. a year ago it was $1199.00 without tax..

Nice TV but pic isn't as clear as I had hoped it would be. But, I don't have the HD Direct TV box yet. Have to wait to buy it because it's $200 and additional money on my monthly bill. Overall its nice.
