I got this tv as a gift and although its not thin, it has a flat screen and the WIDESCREEN part of it comes in handy when i am watching dvds. Nice t.v. and love it to death, would highly recommend it!

Well I've gotta say that I'm pretty impressed with this TV so far. I've been using it now for a couple of weeks and I don't really have any major complaints. For what it is (widescreen, digital tuner, great price), it's a great value. The only things I'm not overly crazy about is the picture and sound quality. The picture is decent, but not as crisp and clean as I've seen in other TVs - it's obviously better when the source is digital (ie: DVD player, satellite, etc.) instead of analog. The sound is pretty hollow, but that's easily remedied by patching the audio out to an external sound source. However, all things considered, I would definitely recommend this TV!!!

We purchased this TV for our livingroom. We have the product for approximately one month and love it. The picture quality is excellent, the sound quality is also excellent. So far we have not had any problems with our purchase. We did purchase the extended warranty which I definetely would recommend, cost under $20.00. We are very satisified with our purchase. I would definetely recommend this product.

I bought the Sanyo Vizon 30" wide screen HDTV less than 2 years ago and the color has gone from great to green. With fewer than 2 hours of use per day, this will likely be the most expensive TV we'll ever buy based on total usage per purchase price. It will likely be in a landfill in the next month. Save yourself the aggrevation and look beyond Sanyo for your next television.

Originally purchased a Dynex 32” T.V. from Best Buy. It didn’t last an hour and there were problems with the color, so back to the store it went. Next I purchased this Sanyo. I have had it a week and I am pleased with it, just like the last Sanyo I owned. Good T.V. good value.

When the 12 old tv in the bedroom died, I saw it as a chance to up-grade. Didn't really need HD in that room so I went looking for an SD widescreen. This Sanyo is exactly what I was looking for. It's the perfect size for a bedroom or small apartment. The TV picture is better than the old analog tv's we've all been watching for the last 70 years. I hooked my plain jane dvd player up to it using the component jacks and found the DVD picture is EXCELLENT! Much better than tv channels. I set my dvd player to 16:9 and my widescreen movies (the animorphic, or made for WS TV ones) fit the screen perfectly. The sound is o.k. I would say satisfactory for a bedroom set. The bass is lacking ( as it is in MOST tv sets). If you insist on theatre sound, you will have to hook the stereo audio output jacks up to a stereo system. BEWARE: the audio output jacks are fixed level. This means if you hook up a stereo amp, you have to use the amps remote control to change volume, the tv remote does not raise and lower the output jack signal. The stereo seperation of the tv is very good, really has a good, room filling sound. So here's the cons: 1)This set is very heavy. 110 pounds, but once you get it set up it's not going anywhere for ten years so who cares. Just be ready to have someone to help you to move it around. 2) If you hook up a stereo you need two remote controls, one for the tv, one for the sound. 3) Only one set of input jacks on the back. If you want to plug in more than one device in the back, you have to buy a component selector box. The pros: 1) GREAT DVD picture using component jacks 2) good stereo sound 3) Perfect size for the bedroom 4) Remote is well thought out, not overly cluttered with buttons and easy to use. BOTTOM LINE.....this TV is easily worth the $298 they're currently selling for. BTW....for another $17 you can extend your warrenty to 3 years and this covers the remote control too. Cheap insurance.

I bought this tv 3 weeks ago. So far no problems. The picture quality is great for a standard tv. I do recommend component cables though b/c of course the better the cables and conection the better the picture will be. The only downside I found to this is that you can only hook up one product at a time in the back. It has multiple inputs, but only one audio input in the back. So my recomendation if you have more than one product is to buy a component video selector trust me it's worth the $20+ to do this. (OK so the TV is also heavy, but unless you move around alot this doesn't really matter after you set it up) If you have friends come over there is also an A/V connection in the front use this if you can unless of course you have a video selctor with an open slot. The widescreen is good and has 3 different modes. 1 is for full screen veiwing which will still play widescreen but it shows up in a box. 2 actually stretches the full screen veiw into a widesreen veiw. so can still watch tv like this but the picture is stretched, also I don't recommend watching widecreen movies like this. 3 is for widescreen veiwing. This will also chop off the top and bottom of the screen so full screen will play as a widescreen it just has the tops and bottom of the screen chopped off. Also there are 2 different widescreen formats. Most of the movies I played veiwed perfectly including new ones. TMNT was not one of these. The picture was great but it still had lines in the top and bottom of the screen. However Final Fantasy, Ultimate Avengers, Dirty Dancing, etc. Played without this problem. However this is not the tv problem The LCDs and Plasmas at Wal-Mart actually veiwed TMNT the same way. So this reveiw was long but hopefully it answered all of the questions that you may have. For the $300 I spent it was well worth every penny. Thank you Sanyo.

Digital tuner is very nice, just hook-up any old antenna and get HD quality football games! Widescreen DVD's look amazing, fit perfectly on screen. Screen is huge, makes bedroom look like a movie theater! 3 viewing options at any time Normal Square : if stretching is bad, I haven't used it once. takes a few inches from the sides Widescreen: I use about 90 percent of the time, used for normal tv watching takes up whole screen Widescreen Zoom: I use when TV shows/movies are already in wdscreen zooms in just enough to remove bars at top and bottom. amazing picture I used xbox 360 component cables, looks just like HD. just go into 360 display settings and set to widescreen best 300 i've ever spent!!!! love watching tv! PS: have at least 2 people to get it inside

i had a simple inexpensive 20 inch tv before this so for me this is a great upgrade. being able to watch wide screen dvd movies are a treat now. only down side to this tv is that it is big and heavy. so moving it without a dolly can be difficult. and it does take up a lot of space due to the depth of it compared to what i had before. but if plasma and lcd high definition isn't in your price range like it isn't for me. this is a great tv to get. especially with it being now under 300 bucks.

really awesome tv for the money!the 30" screen size is really all one needs,i personally don't care for lcd or plasma,bigger screen sizes poorer picture quality,unless you are going to shell out ridiculous amounts of money,would rather spend money saved on upgraded audio equipment.highly recommended television.

Got this tv out of my car, and I'm very athletic but this tv weighs 100 lbs out of the box, I weighed it, Definately not the latest technology. Picture quality was ok but it made my entertainment center bend inwards from all the weight. Price is good but not worth all the trouble, I'm taking it back and getting a much lighter HDTV

I went out and bought this TV to replace an old 27" Zenith that my mom had given me, good TV, but just time to up-grade to something bigger. I have wanted a flat screen for sometime now. This is wonderful, it's great for the widescreen movies and has a very clear picture. The only draw back is that it is very heavy. That is the case with all tube TV's though. Like another customer said, if you are looking for a flat-widescreen TV without shelling out the big bucks for an LCD or Plasma, this is it!

I bought this item yesterday and immediately new that I had found a gem. This purchase was specifically for the purpose of providing an upgrade to my bedroom TV. Man am I happy! This TV is awesome and looks wonderful from the front. Very good picture despite not being HDTV. I almost spent 2.5x as much on a similar sized LCD but glad that I did not. Value is tremendous. The sound could be better and the set is awkwardly heavy. That aside, I believe anyone making this purchase will be pleased.

Want a Widescreen Tv & not ready to shell out the big bucks for a LCD/Plasma HD set... This could be the one for you..
I purchased this TV a week ago at my local Walmart.. It was well worth the money. I use it in my living room and its plenty big enough. Some shows look better than others but all the new shows look great & clear in the widescreen mode.. You get a little streetching on older shows but its not too bad..
Sanyo should have added another set of RCA audio in jacks to the back of the TV.. I have my Directv plugged in to them & have to switch to watch DVD.. It has one set on the back & one in the front. Also has a S-Video jack & the Green,blue red video jacks but all three (RCA, Svideo & Green blue red jacks) share the only audio in jack on the rear.. So basically you can only hook one component to the TV. Unless you use the inferior RF jack.
The sound is just average.. Could be alot better. But people have told me LCD's & Plasmas costing over $1000 dont sound any better..
0verall this is a pretty good TV & would recomend it to anyone not ready to make the HD plunge.
