Philips HTS3544/37 Home Theater System w/ HDMI DVD Player & iPod Dock

This product was purchased as a gift for Christmas for someone very close to me. He told me the sound was wonderful and that he really liked the product and was fairly easy to install. I would recommend this product to someone else.

I received this system for Christmas and am TOTALLY impressed! I am a 52 yr. old grandmother and was able to set this up alone with the instruction booklet. We have a 37" Olevia LCD TV and a Comcast HD/DVD Cable Box. The sound from this is Unreal!! I only have tried it at half sound, because that nearly broke my eardrums and made the walls rumble! DVDs look Awesome! The grandkids think this is the coolest thing in my house. As far as some of these reviews and claiming it doesn't have cetain options....look closer and READ the instruction book...Worth the time. No root menu for DVD's....WRONG! Look at your remote....the Disc Menu button? Also, you CAN adjust Each speaker volume in the Setup menu. I have done it several times now. The option of all the different sounds is fun to play with too. If you have the money to buy a $1000 system, go for it, but if not, you cannot get anything better with this much power and options to use! TOTALLY SATISFIED Customer here!

I am using this product for last 5 months now and I am still excited about it. It was easy to install , took about 20 mins to get everything setup and the sound blew me up. It plays USB direct which I love the most and then it's beautiful and light also (except woofer). Only Disadv I can think of are you don't have CD tray open/close button on remote and then you can't control bass treble , but still it's bass is good. Go ahead with the system and Rock your world !!

This system gives you everything you could want for far less than you would expect.

Experienced the exact same problem a previous person noted - the unit was completely dead on arrival. Actually, the light on the power switch briefly flickered red for a fraction of a second when I plugged it in, then nothing.
I'm still debating whether to try another unit or get something else. It does look pretty nice, and has all the features and connectors I need. But if these units have such a poor power supply from day one (or other power switching issues), I'm concerned how long it will last.

I bought this system thinking it would sound great in my living room. When I had it all hooked up, I came across several problems. First, the fm antenna connection does not fit the prong it plugs into; you have to force it in. Second, it does not pick up sound from my tv (their tech support said I had to run an rca cable from the system to my dish receiver which is in another room!). Third, the dvd player does not work; I tried several dvds and cannot get one to play. Finally, the remote only works half the time. I would not recommend this or any Phillips product at all. This is pure trash.

We were very disappointed in this item. We brought it home and set it all up with a huge disappointment! The back speakers did not even work. We kept trying over and over with no luck at all. Also this system is not very user friendly. It set up really quick to hook everything up but didn't work in the end. Take my advice and keep looking at other systems, this one is a waste of time and money!

i have searching for home theater system for a time. but when i found this produt i liked it. easy to install it took my 20 minutes to do it. works like a charm the sub beats really good, the speakers work really good. its loud crisp clear sound and theres no poping when you turn it up. I WOULD RECOMMAND THIS PRODUT!!!!

Well i got this home theater system as a gift today on Christmas. I set everything up only to find out that when i hit the on button nothing happened. I will be returning it tomorrow only to hope for the best.
