I work up on mackinac island in the summers so having a good bike helps. when i first saw the bike on walmarts website i loved it, but looks can be deceiving. this bike looks awsome, but i dont know if the quality of Schwinn has gone down, but after a week of having the bike, i was bringing it in to have it fixed every other week. I dont know if it will be different for others if they dont ride often, but to me i was very displeased.

This is a good working bike… I use it to get around town and soon to get to classes. I looked online for a long time for the bike of my dreams, I bought this product for many reasons; style , color, the brand is tops, the back basket is a life saver , and the fact that it has gears and hand breaks …which most classic schwinns do not have. . I must say that it is a wonderful bike , lots of complements and all that . the only complaints I can think of at all are that the pain is kind of thin and it scratches easy . and that if you haven’t put together a bike in a while its hard to get everything strait. It was beautiful out of the box no tire or seat issues. I ride It every day almost a few miles and love it and the fact that I sit up strait and don’t lean forward helps me not to get back pain. ….i just wish the paint was thicker …. To stop t from getting rusty I keep it inside. I also recommend the car bike racks walmart sells for cheap, removable , light , racks …but only for short distances.

This is a great bicycle for the rider who is getting back onto two wheels after a long hiatus. Putting the bike together was something of a chore. What little instructions, which were included, were of little help. Thankfully the bike is in few pieces. Please expect to make lots of adjustments. The value is excellent and the bike itself is eye-catching. If your goal is to meet new people this bike is the one to buy, as people will stop you just to make comments about your great bicycle!

I recently had a hip and knee replaced(opposite sides of course) and originally purchased another bike first from Wally's. When I saw a similar style bike at the marina, i tried it out. The only complaint I have is; Why does the lack of a "Grocery" bar make it a woman's bike? They really need to adopt "step-thru frame" or something like that instead of the lack of a high bar making it a womans bike. I love the bike, plus it's a schwinn! It reminds me of the old style paper route bikes of the 60's and 70's.

I have not rode a bike in years. When my Doctor said I needed to get more exercise I chose this bicycle. It's like the one I had when I was younger . The one I had when I was younger has only one speed. This one has a lot of speeds you can ride in. The one I use makes pedaling easy. I love this bike and I'm proud to be seen on it. Really great bike for the price. People LOVE the retro look and comment on it all the time. A few noises when I first got it, but I've tweaked them and it rides like a charm. Wal-Mart Site to Store is a GREAT option, I'd definitely use that again for a purchase like this.

This bike is really nice to ride, easy to assemble (require some tools that doesn't come with the package) . Overall very comfortable. It is particularly good if you have a place to store it on the 1st fl or if you plan to ride it occasionally. The only cons I can see are the size and weight. It's larger than regular mountain bikes in both dimensions. Thus if you plan to keep this bike on the third floor of an apartment and the stairs not large, than carrying back and forth might annoy you. However when you start riding on the street you may forget how frustrating was bringing it down or carrying it up each time. I recommend this bike for occasional outdoor (city) bikers.

I like the sturdiness of the bike. I also like the "retro" look as I am a child of the 50's. The seat is not as comfortable as I would have liked, but it's okay for now. I got the bike to strengthen my knees which were both replaced this summer. So far, I haven't gotten beyond second gear, but I think the strengthening is working. I do have a problem getting the bike to stay back in first gear when I shift down. I don't know how to fix that.

A lot less hassle if you can avoid home assembly. The instructions were generic, not for this bike. Missing hardware, kickstand is too tall. You'll forget all these minor issues once you take a ride. Sooo comfortable to sit upright (remember when we all rode upright??) You'll smile just looking at your new bike! Nice smooth shifting, comfortable (enough) seat, gorgeous red with chrome fenders. Awesome!

I am very pleased with the beach cruiser. I get tons of compliments. I love that I can ride it in a skirt and on my way to work. I have riden it every day this week and plan to do so until the weather changes. It is pretty comfortable. I did not realize that it had adjustable speeds...I am so happy it does! I had a hard time getting it assembled. I did not know that .com items are not eligible for assembly. I nagged enough people at the local store and at the .com customer service to get it assembled. I knew of other people that bought it from the store and it was assembled. I could not find any in stock at 4 different stores so resorted to buying online. I also wish it was available in other colors. My bike is a twin with my secretary's bike. It also happens to be our competitor school's color. Oh well, for the value and style, I found it worth it...for now. I have made lots of recommendations to others!

Keep in mind this product is not professional quality, but it is great for the money. My husband put it together (he did say the directions did not exist), and he said it took awhile but not forever. I love the bike. It rides smoothly and I think the seat is comfy. Sometimes, when going up very steep hills, the gear will slip out of the lowest gear, into 2nd gear, but not a big deal. I stuck a basket on the back rack, and I'm ready to go! I would definitely recommend this bike.

I am a 54 year old 5'10" guy at 195 pounds with a 29" inseam. Needless to say that I can't do tall bikes, which eliminates most of the 700 and 26" bikes.
I originally bought a 24" Mongoose XR-75. It ended up being too small and awkward for me to ride. Walmart took the return with no problems.
The quality difference between the Mongoose and Schwinn are like night and day to me. The gears on the Schwinn are positive and easy to change where the Mongoose gears never worked right. I might miss the extra low gears on the Mongoose, but 7 should be fine for the moderate hills around Lancaster, Ohio. I don't miss the dual suspension. The tires and seat on the Schwinn are fine for me.
The best part of all is that the bike is listed at $160 the checkout discounted it to $125. What a deal!
Thank you Walmart. Thanks to the associate who took the time to adjust the seat for me. And thanks to Schwinn for the great bike.
I usually don't write reviews of items, but this is worth the effort. I hope that this helps somebody.

I bought this bike for my daughter's 12th birthday last week. I had it assembled at WalMart. The seat has fallen off and the front tire is crooked. She has only ridden it once. Now I have to haul it back to WalMart and fight with them to fix it. I'm not too happy about it. The bike is pretty and maybe if they fix it, then it will be fine. Also, I had thought the thing in the back was a rack but it isn't. I guess it's a 2nd seat. Maybe they put it on there because the front seat falls off.

I seriously doubt this will become a collector's item because the craftmanship isn't up to par with the Schwinn name. (See Pics) However, $160.00 doesn't buy much of a bike these days. I would consider this a starter cruiser. If you like it and use it (like I do) , you may be able to justify saving for a higher end bike. I will probably save for some wide white tires for the time being.
After I got past my intial reaction, to the chipped paint, and poor rubber on the tires, I grew to love this bike for its usefullness. I live in a small town, and it is perfect for running to the library, or picking up items from the grocery store. I haven't started my car for days!!
