The innovative tee-free design of the Fisher-Price Better Batter helps kids keep their eye where it should be when they're learning to bat. Learning to hit the ball can be fun and easy; just tap the plate to automatically load a ball. The mechanical arm drops down, picks up a ball and then raises right back to position. Sound effects, baseball "chatter" and ESPN music add to the fun.

This was a birthday gift for our 3yr old son who is above average in size so I was concerned that he would be too big for the product. He wasn't. We still have room to grow on the height adjustments. He loves the sounds and even talks to it. He can really hit the ball hard too with this. He is a switch hitter, so we can just turn the product around for him to bat from the other side. Only complaint is that I wish it were a little heavier so it would not topple as easy on grass, but he has to miss the ball and hit the post to knock it over. Well worth it to save your shoulder and have a consistent height for your child to hit the ball.

Bought this for 4 year old...it worked fine at first. Now, about 4 months later, the lever that attaches to the ball bends when working to attach to the balls, and frequently gets stuck in the cage that holds the balls. Disappointing.

I ordered this toy for my 3 yr old twin grandkids as a birthday gift. The boy loves this toy! He wakes up wanting to play baseball. His sister enjoys it too, as do their 6 year old cousins. It is an awesome toy -- works perfectly and all parts were present. My daughter is telling her friends to purchase it for their kids as well. I would highly reccomend this toy.

My 5yr old is a bit too tall for this without standing the unit on something. I wish it had an extra 2-3 notches in the height, the lowest setting is almost laughable as most 12month olds are taller! So it seems a bit short for the intended ages.
I would say over 40" tall children, plan on having some sort of stool or something to stand it on.
It works great - no problems with velcro not sticking or over-sticking. I like that it is velcro and not magnets as that makes the balls easier to replace (use wiffle balls with dots of velcro or just tennis balls - tennis ones are a bit smaller so it won't always pick them up but they work)..
NOTE: The black swingarm is MEANT to give if accidentally whacked. If it were permanently attached, after a few hits it would be cracked, broken and useless. Instead it simply pops off to prevent breaking. My 5yr old has figured out how to pop it back on - NOT A BIG DEAL.
The sounds is clear and not too loud. I like that it is varied - a nice variety of random ball park sounds... the organ, the announcer, crowd cheers, and even a delayed crack of a bat. Fun touch!
I like the red button - cute idea! The kids like that feature.
And it has an on/off switch. BTW - GIFTERS - this takes 3-C batteries - don't forget those!!
To prevent accidental walking in the line of a swing, we drew with sidewalk chalk a generous "batter's box" that the kids know to stay on the outside of. Plus look for those cheap velcro ball and catch mitt sets - those go nicely with this. The kids have learned to take turns that the one that "fields" the balls gets to load them in and hit next!

I was afraid that this would be another toy that my son insisted he wanted that would end up broken in a week or would end up just sitting collecting dust in the yard. Thankfully, I was wrong! My son loves this tee. Its easy to use, talks to you, and is perfect for a budding ball player!

I always try to leave comments when there is something I wish someone would have told me about this product, so.... as much as we love this toy and think it is a great deal and game, my 4 year old got this for his birthday this week and is already almost too tall for it. My son is not tall by any means, average to short. I know the box says three and up, but I'd say this product is more for a 2 to 3 year old! It is adjustable, but the tallest setting is not very high. That's all! :) (My 18-month old plays it and also loves it!)

The product is sturdy, operates on its own, & is excellent training for hand to eye coordination. The parents do NOT need to be present while the child plays. Purchased for grandson turning 4. Can be used inside as well as outside! He loves that it talks to him.

The Better Batter Trainer provided hours of entertainment for my grandson and his four year old friends. The balls were made so that they were at a distance for him to retrieve.
The one problem was that if the ball was not hit perfectly it would fall off the arm

The product seems large (tall) but it is not. It is more appropiate for 2-3 year old kids.
Luckily before it arrived to the store (as we bought it site-store) my wife went over our local store and saw it. Thus, enabling us to not pick up the order and get a refund issued to my credit card.

We got this for our 3 yr old boy for xmas. He loves it! My husband said it had quite a few screws, but was relatively easy to put together. Very kid friendly-they can turn it off and on by themselves and do everything by themselves! Very durable. Had it out on a very windy day and it stayed up and didn't blow over. Great toy for a little baseball starter!!

My son wanted this for months and months and was so excited to open it on his birthday. Unfortunately, it is not well made and and the piece that holds the ball to the unit so he can bat it continues to come off. It could be super glued I guess but really, for a Fisher Price toy, disappointing.
