After reading all I could find on this product, I went against my instinct and purchased it because I knew I could take it back to walmart if needed. Having worked with fridges before, it seemed likely that the problem might not be the fridge at all.
Any time you move a refrigerator (especially if you lay it down or lean it period) there is a real good chance that oil from the compressor got into the the compression valves...not a big deal, unless you power up the fridge before gravity pulls it back down to the compressor. Good rule of thumb on any fridge is 24 hours. I gave mine 48 just because I had to lay it down in my car to get it home. On this model, lay it down only if you have to, glass side down, reason is the valves come out of the top facing the back side of the compressor...if you lay it down on it's back there is a better chance of it getting deep into the valves. Just be sure to take the shelves out first and not damage the glass door.
Since I had two days to wait I read the instructions. Very important to keep a two inch clearance on the top and back of the fridge to make sure the compressor doesn't over heat. The instructions also state to LEAVE THERMOSTAT on medium for a minimum of 24 hours. This makes sure that you don't overheat the compressor. If you don't comply with any of the above, YOUR FRIDGE MAY NOT EVER RUN PROPERLY.
It also said to not keep the fridge anywhere that gets colder than 55 degrees (garage). I live in florida so my garage only gets down to around 40 at night. It's been fine here, but if you live anywhere it might get down to freezing you may want to consider moving it indoors for the winter.
It also has two easy to use leveling legs on the front, which allows easy leveling, and can raise the front if the door isn't sealing correctly (as in the one review).
I can't speak for the guy that said he got a damaged fridge, but I've used site to store on numerous items and as before this showed up in perfect condition.
Oh yeah another thing to help not overheat your compressor is to not bog it down by completely filling it with beverages at first. Throw a few beers (sodas) in there and give it a chance to get cold. I also HIGHLY suggest buying a 4 dollar fridge thermometer (they are specifically ranged for fridges/freezers and hang or sit on the shelving inside) This will prevent you from opening the door to see how cold it is every 10 minutes.
I am overwhelmingly happy with the look and quality of the fridge, it seems durable and comes completely assembled.
I can't say for sure what everyone else did, but I did everything I said above and what it said in the instructions and thing works like a champ. It's quiet, and when I had it turned to 'coldest' it got right to what it said it would, 36 degrees.
