Nextar 1GB Sport MP3 Player, Yellow

This was a perfect match for what I needed. I had just returned a similiar item to another retailer and decided to get online and see what Wal-Mart had in the mp3 players. I read the reviews and checked prices and decided to purchase this with hopes that it would work without all the hassles I had with the other one. It arrived at the store, I got an email to come pick it up, and 6 hours later I was listening to my music using this fantastic player. Very easy to load music and the storage is great. Battery life is 10x better than the other I had and it's rechargeable thru your computer. I leave it on repeat and shuffle and it is hours before I hear the same song again. I have already recommended it to 3 friends and my future wife is thinking of ordering her one. The FM tuner is hard to figure out, but it works. Haven't tried the pedometer or any other of its other features as I am enjoying my commercial free music that I loaded while I work. Makes the day fly by and I noticed I am not as stressed. You can't go wrong with this one. A+++

I wanted a MP3 player that would also have a radio, my favorite color is Yellow, So I thought I would review this product, I read your reviews and thought I would give it a try. I love the player, once we figured out how to download songs, I have 60 in there now and still have a lot more room. I work in an office and sometimes I like to tune people out, so now I have a radio and my favorite songs. Make me happy all day long. The price was great- better than an Ipod. The radio does come in well because I am in Nashville and the radio stations are close. I can walk around with no probelm, It has a clip and I can clip it onto a pocket. The headphones do work well but are a little funky, It goes over the head, it would be great for gogging but the office it's something else. I'll keep them though. The battery lasts a long time on one charge, and I use it daily, also it's neat that I don't have to purchase batteries all the time. Thanks for the reduce price and offering this product. I will use Walmart.com again.

I couldn't be happier with my Nextar MP3 player. I decided to go on a health and fitness regime this past summer and my Nextar has been my fitness companion. I did research on the internet and checked out the stores, and for what Nextar offered, I figured I couldn't go wrong... and I was right! The price is the most reasonable and it has all the features I need. The readout is legible and easy to manipulate, even when I'm riding on my bike. The sport arm band case, that was a must have for my needs, is included. From what I've seen, the price of most carry cases for other mp3's or ipods is at least half the cost of the whole Nextar MP3 package. My recommendation is ... GET IT!!

i didn't care for thei product you cant read the display out side. i bought it in april and its dead from wearing it while riding a mower and sweating
and it only has a 90 warranty would not by again

Everything works as expected and for the price, I haven't found anything that comes close to the storage and capabailitites. The only problem I have is that it doesn't pick up too many FM stations. I doubt many do, though.

The product works great. I get all of the non-standard features that you find in other MP3 players. Also it is durable and the battery life is exceptional. All in all, I would compare this beside any of the more expensive brands and note that the only differences occur with the price. I'm thinking of purchasing another one in a different color.

The radio reception is good outside but indoors it is fuzzy at times. Also sometimes the buttons have to be pressed several times before they respond. It has good sound. The battery recharges in about 2 to 3 hrs. And really lasts a long time. It also is easy to use and comes with accessories. The headphones though were junk in my opinion. Well hope this helps.

I was unable to pick up FM stations. Nice MP3. needs better reception for FM tuner.

I purchased this MP3 to replace an old Memorex MP3 player that was both difficult to use and now far out of date, as far as MP3 players go. I found the Nextar after doing a great deal of research on inexpensive but feature filled MP3 players. I use it primarily to listen to old time radio shows and find that it works quite well. The sound quality is good and, while I feel like they could have increased the maximum volume, the different EQ choices (Rock, Pop...) have the effect of raising the volume. Although the rechargable battery is both good and bad (you don't have to replace it, but when it dies, you can't use the machine until it's recharged which means you're without the MP3 player for up to 2 hours). Realistically this is only a problem if you take it on a trip where you dont' have access to a power source to charge it. However, I would have preferred a AAA battery design, instead. My favorite feature is the shut off timer which allows me to turn the device off after it's been on for a pre-set length of time. This allows me to listen to it when I fall asleep and not worry about using up the battery, which my old machine always did. The controls are pretty easy to use. The little flap on the USB port is quite flimsy and is bound to break off, but that's probably not too much of a problem. A mini-card expansion slot would have been nice, but I have found fewer and fewer machines with these (RCA Pearl has them, though, but that machine had tiny buttons, no FM radio, and the headphones were on the side of the machine, so it stuck out at a right angle which I didn't like.) I have not yet had to reset the machine, like some other people have noted, and only time will tell if it remains durable and keeps working. However, for now, I'm quite happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
