I, purchase this unit 1/2010 and the unit did fine for about four hours after that it started to freeze up.i checked out the manual and it stated to turn the fan on to defrost the ice. well that worked for about 15 mins. i called the company and they stated that they would send me another unit. the unit took almost 2 weeks when it arrived i installed the unit, after that it did fine for about 8 hours then it started to freeze up again same as the first unit now i'am waiting to talk with the trouble shooting department. i just hope summer dont get her before i see what the unit can do in the winter.

The air part works great, the heater part doesn't. It uses a return air valve for the heat not heat strips. So it freezes up when it is really cold outside. Had to purchase a room heater for the room.

I ordered this product for my beach house-so direct shipping to the beach was great. Picked-up product and HVAC person said it had been dropped. When it was plugged in it made a loud clicking noise and the frame was bent. Returned to store and re-ordered. 2nd unit arrived and motor would not turn. HVAC person worked on it and got it running. Bad experience do not order this product!!!!!

I WISH I HAD SAVED THE MONEY, IT WORKED WONDERFUL IN THE SUMMER, BUT IN THE WINTER, ONCE THE TEMP GOT BELOW 45 OUTSIDE, I NOTICED THE UNIT BLEW IN COLD AIR AS WELL. The unit was installed and tested for a few minutes and seemed to work fine. When turned on that night it would only blow warm air..by morning, it was blowing cold air and making a horrible knocking, banging noise, as if something had come loose and was stuck in the fan. This unit was purchased for an animal rescue and we had to hire someone to put it in for us..now we have to hire someone to take it out to return it. I'm leery about replacing it with the same as I've read the other reviews. Very Very Disappointed!!

The unit was installed for supplemental heating and cooling. When put on high heat and warmest setting it only produced cool air. The unit was uninstalled and returned to Wal-Mart for refund. The refund process went smoothly. I cannot recommend this product.

I bought this product may 18th of 2008, which is 5 months ago, and it worked great until the other day. The fan quit working and I had to turn it off for a while. When I turned it back on it worked fine until this morning. It quit working altogether and it was freezing cold this morning. Not a good time for the thing to quit! Maybe we just got a bad unit but I would be cautious when buying.

Our first unit didn't even turn on when we first plugged it in so we took it back and ordered another one of the same brand and size. That one worked great for TWO DAYS then just stopped working. We returned that one also and decided not to bother buying a third one. I feel that I wasted a couple of months this winter buying and returning and waiting for the new ac/heater to come in.

my home has a sunporch that is not heated or cooled by the house. I hoped this window unit would solve our climate control issue's. It does wonderful during the summer with cooling the space. It works ok when its just slightly cold maybe 50 degrees but if its below that it doesnt even maintain the temperature of the room. I would not recommend this for heating a space.
