Mr. Coffee 4-Cup Espresso Maker

I have been using my machine daily for a month and I'm very happy with it. It brews a very good espresso in a reasonable time and couldn't be simpler to operate. The coffee even has the head, called crema, that you expect on a good espresso. The steaming function is also easy to use, but the non-detachable steaming arm is the reason for the 4 (not 5) star rating. It is more difficult to clean than a detachable arm. I do love this machine's small footprint - the last thing I need is another huge appliance on my counter. Don't forget, you must use good quality coffee that is ground for an espresso maker, to get good results from any machine. No need to spend more, this machine will do the job at a very good price!

Purchased this 1-4-2010. Set it up and no matter what we did, could not get it to make the milk hot. Found the steamer spout in awkward position on the unit. Took it back the next day.

Bought a high price espresso maker a couple weeks ago and it quit working already so I returned it determined not to try another. BUT I saw this one for $30 and thought I could take the chance - it got good ratings! It makes great lattes and mochas. I have no problem steaming the milk so don't know why others complained. Also the cord is long enough (another complaint I read). This works a lot better than that high priced one I just returned and I am so satisfied that I'm going to buy one for my daughter.

I went to purchase a different esspresso maker but the store didn't have it in stock. I saw this one by the same manufacturer at half the price and thought I'd give it a try. While the espresso part works okay, the steamer/frother is a joke! I tried 6 vessels and every way possible to give it a chance to work and all I got was milk sprayed everywhere. No froth and while the steamer portion does steam it also scalds the milk. Yuck! I am a chef and have worked as a professional barista so I have some knowledge of how this is done. I have used so many different types of esspresso/cap machines the idea that I failed to do it correctly isn't a very real possibility AND even though I was pretty sure I knew what to do I STILL read all of the instructions before trying to use the machine so I am returning it. Unfortunately. I hope this review saves you from wasting your time on this unit.

Well, I picked one of these about 2 years ago and it worked great! I used it quite often. But just short of a year and out of the blue one day, my maker took 2x as long to make less then half the amount of espresso, I could still hear the water boil and see steam coming out the machine, but it just seem like it was working too hard. It never recovered after that. I do use the Brew Rite cleaner on it at least once a month. But I thought it was a fluke and found the price reasonable, so I purchased another one. And it's been almost a year... and guess what... EXACT same thing happen, out of the blue... TODAY! it worked fine on Monday!?! aaah well... maybe it was another fluke? maybe I'm doing something wrong? i use it no more then once a day, maybe 3-4 times a week. I like, but can't recommend it anyone else. live and learn.

Received this product as a gift. You cannot steam milk and brew espresso at the same time so it takes at least 10 minutes to make one drink. Not ideal for most of us who like to run out the door, drink in hand. After several months the time it took to create hot water increased dramatically. Now mine doesn't even brew properly and is of absolutely no use. Waste of money. I used to work in a coffee shop so I know a good machine when I see it. Believe me, you get what you pay for so if you LOVE espresso, spend the money to get a decent machine.

just got this and took it home .set it up then used.well what a disapointment.frother is no good.and the handle fell off.how sad to break on first use

I bought this little machine two years ago thinking, for $25 (the price back then) why not give it a try? I've used it almost every day since and loved it. The espresso is better than Starbucks (but I roast my beans fresh at home and that's the difference). Please don't think you need to spend $300 on a machine to get a good cup of espresso. Spend that money on good fresh coffee instead. That's what matters most.

After 2 years, the plastic covering for the froth attachment finally cracked and I haven't found a replacement. The froth is excellent. Just follow the instructions ... Maybe the best $25 I've spent.

Our previous expresso maker gave up the ghost after ten years. We thought that any expresso maker would deliver satisfactory results and bought the Mr. C ECM150. The machine makes decent expresso, (but no matter how we do it) THIS MACHINE DOES NOT FOAM MILK. It even does a lousy job of warming the milk while attempting to develop foam.
