This product has helped give my 4 year old a good base and has given me something to start with and add to. She loves working with the material. I do wish it was more computer based, The markers I received were dried out.

My son is 4 years old and will not hold a pencil or color. He starts kindergarten in August and in attempt to get him to write his name I bought this. Within three days he enjoyed all the activities and is doing well with the program.

My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the fall, and I wanted to enhance what she learned in pre-school. I'm so glad I purchased hooked on phonics, these kits have everything I wanted plus much more! It's a great tool to help your child stay at or above his or her level. I will be buying the first grade hooked on phonics once we complete this one, and will consider getting the complete math kit too! Happy Mom & Daughter

I have just started working with my 4 yr old daughter with this, it has lots of great stuff! I'm sure we will make great progress with it, I'd would recommend this to anyone who wants there child to get a head start or to help them along the way!

My son and I really like the kindergarten program. The only thing that we dont like is the annoying music in the cds, but if you really want, you can work without them. Overall, we like it.

I bought Hooked on Kindergarten about a month ago and I couldn’t be happier with my daughter’s progress! My husband is in the military so we’ve had to move and change schools a lot. Another mom suggested Hooked on Phonics to me as a way to help my daughter stay at or above her grade level. At first I was skeptical so I tried some other products, Leapfrog, etc. I think they were more fun than educational. Then I finally tried Hooked on Kindergarten and I could see the change right away. There is so much to do, it really is a great value. As soon as we finish this one I’m going to move on to the next program!

This product is awesome! First, you can't beat the Walmart price - not even through E-bay! I paid only $79.99 which is less than half the cost through the HOP website. My son will be entering Kindergarten this Fall and I just wanted to start working on his letters and letter sounds beforehand. Although he is not able to read yet, we've only been using the program for a few weeks and he knows all of is letters and letter sounds! He loves to listen to the audio CD in the car along with the flip flash cards provided. We've tried to read some of the books in the program and he doesn't seem quite ready yet to associate the letter sounds he knows with the words on the page. I don't want to push him too much before he's even in school (starting next week). At the school evaluations last week, his teacher was impressed that he knew all of his letter sounds! I know it won't be long before he's reading and I think the combination of his Kindergarten teacher and the Hooked on Phonics program will be terrfic! The writing part of the program has also been really helpful. My son always had a habit of drawing letters to look correct, but he did them all out of order (starting in the wrong place, etc). But this program has helped him see where to place his pencil and/or crayon to write the letters correctly! We haven't started the math portion of the program yet, but with all of the fake money and flash cards and games, it sure looks like it will be a fun way to learn. My husband thought it was silly to purchase this kit before he entered school, but I have absolutely no regrets. If all it accomplishes is the pride he now has when telling people his letter sounds and showing them the letters he's written, I am happy with that, but I know he will excel thanks to both his Kindergarten teacher and the Hooked on Kindergarten program!
