I had cousin who went to see New version of Sparkle and she really enjoy it, but when she family talk how great the older version was she want to brower mine. I told her oh no, you have to get you own. I she did get is , so proud Sparkle for Christmas.

Irene Cara played the title character. She made Sparkle rise from Harlem to stardom. There were good performances and songs. The most popular song emerging from this film was the En Vogue rendition of "Giving Him Something He Can Feel (To Let Him Know This Love is Real)". This might surprise some fans of EnVogue & Irene Cara.

The movie was not all that, it was not at all what I expected. It started very slow plus half way through the movie the sound kept fading in and out.

I CAN REMEMBER AS A CHILD WATCHING THIS MOVIE WITH MY MOTHER, SINGING ALONG AND IMATIATING THE DANCE MOVES. AS AM OLDER I STILL LOVE THE MOVIE AND SING ALONG. VERY GOOD MOVIE, VERY GOOD.
