The Sauder Orchard Hills Full/Queen Bookcase Headboard in Carolina Oak finish attaches to Full/Queen size bed. Made from engineered wood, this headboard comes with a laminate finish for added durability. This wooden bookcase headboard features a spacious display area for alarm clock and books. Two adjustable shelves provide space to store books, magazines, and other things you might want to keep within reach. Enclosed back panel of the bookshelf headboard has cord access. After looking at the reviews AFTER I bought this headboard I was worried--took forever to put together? Pieces didn't fit like they should? Pieces came scratched and damaged?
I had NONE of the above problems with my headboard. It was delivered 4-5 days earlier than expected, all pieces were in excellent condition, and a friend and I put it together in under an hour. The instructions say not to use an electric drill, but we were careful as we used ours and had no problems at all--we tightened the screws 75% to 80% with the drill and then did the last 20-25% by hand.
This headboard has completely exceeded my expectations. A great place to keep my CPAP, a desk lamp, alarm clock and other random things I like by my bed at night. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice bookshelf style headboard.

I've always been very pleased with Sauder products and this bookcase headboard proved to be another Sauder hit! Took my spouse and I a little over an hour to put it together. Everything lined up just right. Went together so nicely. We looked at several headboards that did not include the hardware to attach to a metal bed frame, but Sauder made sure to include them. So very happy with this.

Sauder has come a long way in the past decade or so. This set looks nice, you have to get close to tell its not real wood. I am however apprehensive because being made of compressed wood board there is that inevitable problem of lack of sturdiness. It feels really well made now, quite sturdy, and was put together with a minimum of hassle. As long as it is not moved around I am sure it will last a long while. Once you start dragging it around the room to rearrange the floor plan is when it will wear out fast! We did have to choose a second (less than ideal) choice in the floor plan to assure that the bed has two side to walk around for making up the bed as apposed to putting one side against the wall, which would require pulling the bed away from the wall each time you made the bed, this would cause stress on wear the headboard is attached to the bed frame and would break away quickly. Glad we thought of that right away.

We bought one of these headboards for my son's twin bed a few years ago and now my son went from the twin to a queen bed so we bought the queen headboard for his birthday. This is easy to put together. Came in great condition, no scratches.
Fits the queen bed pefectly, just like in the picture.
We like the many shelves, has so much space.
Looks great!!
My daughter now has the twin and my husband and I plan to buy another one of the queen's for our bed.
My oldest daughter, who is out of the house with a home of her own, plans to buy her one for her queen.
If you need a headboard this is the one, for the price it can't be beat!!

The instructions should have been in a different order. I was putting it together per instructions when the "plastic" angle brackets to hold the shelf and the lower front panel of the headboard broke I had to go and buy some metal ones to make the connection. The "plastic" molding connectors were a laugh since every time I tried to move the front molding, the right and left molding kept falling off. The cam dowels which were to go into the shelf and panel was much easier to connect when I put them into right and left end first then made the connection to the shelf and panel. I struggled to put it together, however when I finally finished the headboard was exactly like I was expecting it to be. I was pleased with the appearance. The main reason I would not recommend this to a friend is the struggle I went through when following the directions.

Arrived in one very heavy box with some water damage to the box so I was kinda concerned. But after opening everything thing up the wood was fine. Kinda tricky to put together with one person but I got it done. It looks great and I have lots of space for all my stuff.

Thank you Walmart for offering this great headboard for the price. THE PRICE wow! This headboard met all expectation actually a little over expectations. I purchased this for my 10 yr old son's full-size bed. Assembly was pretty fair, not to hard. I wish they had one in white; I would get one for myself!
