Lexmark X1240 All In One Printer

I originally bought this printer during the "day after Thanksgiving" a year ago. I finished using my old printer/ink before hooking up this printer. I had to purchase a cable as it did not come with one and after that, the printer did not work from the onset. I called customer service with Lexmark and they sent out a new printer. That printer worked briefly. The color printer was not true, the quality was extremely poor, it often fed more than one page at a time, and then quit printing completely. I had it looked at but determined that it would cost more to work on than I paid for it, so I guess I just wasted my time and money dealing with this printer. I would never recommend this printer and I don't even think I'll use this brand again.

This printer actually works OK if you don't need to do much with it. However, it does have some major drawbacks and if you need to use it for anything other than casual printing, I suggest that you purchase another product. The problems I have with this printer are:
It goes through ink like crazy.
It often grabs more than one page of paper at a time, messing up the print.
It prints VERY slowly.
The scan resolution if very poor, can't use it to scan readable documents.
The program that runs the scanner does not do very basic scanning functions.
It scans VERY slowly.

Excellent product for the price.
It prints photos and documents clearly.
It scans and copies well.
I have not figured out how to fax thru my isp.
I recommend you upgrade to the high volume cartridges.
A good buy!

worst printer i ever bought. very hard to install, i bought it 4 mnths. ago and i still have not been able to use it. also it didnt even come with its own usb cable

This printer worked great at first. But then after about 3 months it just bit the dust. Lines in everyting I print. The color went off to. This is my second lexmark printer that just didn't last. I am going to try a different brand the next time. It couldn't turn out worse.

This printer has slots for two cartridges, but only one is included with the printer. That one does both color and B/W, but of the two cartridges available for this job, No. 26 and No. 27, the one sent with the printer has the lesser ink content. The help line email was used to find how to install and print with a B/W cartridge only. The answer took 24 hours and was undecipherable. Also the User's Guide does not explain what the control bottons on the printer do or control.

I am finally HAPPY with a printer. I have been through so many I can't even count. I figured the more I would spend the better the printer ! I sure was wrong !
I finally got this one figured it would be another "throw away" but this is one I will keep as long as possible. It is quiet and accurate and the paper does not come out 10 instead of one.
Great printer and I hope all try it. I had some I paid nearly $200.00 for that cannot compare.
This little 'cheapy' is an excellent find.
Try it hopefully you will agree.

This product is all I wanted and expected from Lexmark.

I have just opened the printer and it looks like it will meet my needs so far so good
