HP Photosmart D7160 Photo Printer

So far I love this printer. I have printed 8X10's to hang on my wall and they look like they were printed at a photo place. Easy to use and install.

This is a very good buy for the money - would be for even more money! The printer was super easy to set up, fits nicely on a small desk and is very quiet (except for the initial setup noises). The quality of the printouts is very good, it handles many sizes of paper and the ink dries quickly. The ink cartridges last a good long while and can be purchased individually for about $10 each, so it's quite economical to run. It's a little tricky to print things like checks - it really isn't designed for those sorts of forms, but you can lie to it and tell it you're printing an envelope :-) All-in-all, I use it a lot and expect to continue.

It's very simple to use, yet very versatile. I am using the second highest quality of hp photo paper, and while it doesn't offer absolute professional quality, it makes very good pictures. If you are very particular about your pictures then spend a little more for your printer and your paper. If you just want an affordable way to make your own photos and they don't have to be perfect, then this is for you. To my taste the results are framable.

I upgratded to this printer during the holidays. Very easy to install, just be sure to use correct disc and it will install quickly. Took some getting used to since it was some different than the last printer but was not a problem. Prints quickly. I like the ink cartridges that go with this printer as they are easy to install in the printer. Very good color on photos, as good as a professional developer.

The HP7160 has to be the best printer for the cost there is available any where. It prints outstanding photos every time. The picture quality is for above my expectations. This is my first photo printer and I would recomend it to people of all ages. At first I had a problem transfering pictures from the P.C. to the printer. I blame that on my age. I am 75 years young. Once I understood the procedure,it was very simple. The only complaint I might have,would be the size of it. I have so many things on my computer desk it is a mess.

First of all, this price cannot be beat. Secondly, this HP printer is a very high end printer, it is amazing how simple this robust piece of equipment is.

I got this through the "site to store" option - this worked well, was easy, no lines - just have to wait a little for the product to arrive at the store.
Love it - can't beat the price - at least $40-60.00 less than I have seen it elsewhere on the web. I set it up myself, much to my husband's relief. Everything made sense and the computer connection is a USB cable which is much easier to connect to a USB hub than fussing about behind the CPU and unplugging other things.
The setup tests and such ran through easily and the photos I printed on the sample 4 X 6" photo paper are great - borderless prints printed directly from the SD card of my camera. It doesn't get much easier. The cartridges are easy to handle. I've no idea how long they will last or how good a value they may be or not - only time will tell in this respect. It takes lots of different paper - I printed out an emergency birthday card for one of my son's friends as the first thing I printed after I set it up. Usually I mess these up in some way when it comes time to print. But I made it this time and even printed the envelope first time through using a custom size setting.
My husband thought it was nutty to have another printer, but I think even he has been won over to this HP.

Very easy setup. I have two HP printers on my system and this 7160 is used only for imagery. It does a very good job of reproduction. Excellent product, would buy another.
