Garmin nuvi 660 Portable GPS with Bluetooth Capability for Handfree Calling

GREAT MAPPING SYSTEM, IT FOUND A 45 MINUTE QUICKER WAY TO MY BEACH HOUSE, VERY ACCURATE

The first time I used the device to go to an unfamiliar area it messed up big time! The map was just _wrong_ about the one street I was looking for and I spent an hour and a lot of gas going round and round because I trusted it! It has the street by my home wrong, too and I wonder what else! A real problem is the pronunciation. "Oregon Road" is pronounced something like "oh-RAY-gone". Try decoding that at 40 mph! So far I haven't found a way to tell it to avoid highways but that could be my problem.

Great gps. The only fault that I see on all of them is being able to erase one location at a time and not all of the info you have installed

The Garmin Nuvi 600 series is just awesome. I travel 2-3 days a week and it gets me there everytime. Very intuitive and easy to use right out of box. Mounting system is easy to use. and allows the unit to be removed with the click of the release.
Overall-great product and can be bought in the $325-350 range. Beware "discount online sites" selling "refurbished models."

I bought this unit to use for trips and it has been wonderful! The big screen makes it easy to look at; I pass other people with the 3.5" screen and wonder on how they can see that thing, glad I bought the 4.3"! Love the FM transmitter, listening to my music on the car speakers is great; just wish it wouldn't cut out when I pass a truck. Gives me very accurate directions and TOA. The only problem I have had is with new roads, some roads have been there for years and it doesn't show up and one just been built this year and was on the map (this one was in a big city). I have one exit that I take that it shows me going on the ramp but when the ramp straightens out it jumps me back on to the interstate; I however find it ammusing but otherwise annoying. When putting in an address for a house it takes me right to it, but when I do it for a business it is a 50/50 shot. I gets me on the right street but either the business is further down the road or way before it says you are there. It will take me right to my office but won't take me to Wal-mart lol. I've used the bluetooth a couple of times but am still working on getting used to it. I would recommend buying a 1 gig+ sd card to store music or audio books or pics on; that was a great investment. Hooks up easily to my computer and transfer files. Garmins update feature is easy to use (have to go to their website to get it and use it). Just turn it on atleast 5 to 10 minutes before you have to leave after updating so it can install the update(s) I have never lost reception outside (just when I drive into the shop), but if you do it is faster to shut it off and turn it back on to acquire satelites then to let it find them afterwards. I bought this unit in Feb 2008 and have put on 10,000 miles and use it almost everyday. The only other thing I wish Garmin did was add a route that you could avoid most towns. It is either the fastest or shortest. Fastest is not always the fastest. Shortest will take you down gravel roads if that bothers you, it doesn't me so I dont mind. Overall it is a great product with some things that can be improved but I am sure they all have problems.

bluetooth works pretty well, could hear it better when it's quiet, volume could be increased.... but you can use the cd cassette to input, sometimes i think it takes the long way... i dont know why.... i've saved more time going the way i'm used to then using the nav unit in familar places.. but pretty good overall.... would sometimes tell you to stay left lane.. and last minute would tell you to exit which is 4 lanes over and exit is on right but pretty good. very good on road trips, and unfamilar places

Unbeatable price of $335. The Nuvi 660 is an excellent with great features.

Product is easy to use. Blutooth function is a big help and easily paired to cell phone. Some minor concern regarding roads data as even with upload of current data I obtain occasional directional error. I would recommend this product. I personally utilize the shortest distance option in an effort to save on fuel expense.
