Creative Zen V Plus 4GB MP3 Video Player, Black/Blue

I purchased the Zen V Plus about a year ago in a Wal-Mart store. On it's good days, this player is great. It's easy to transfer music to it through any number of different programs, and with a good charge it will play music for a couple of days. I also like how compact it is and how simple the controls are. The problems with this player far outweigh the benefits. Customer service through Creative is very poor. The unit has a bad habit of locking or freezing up, and you have to reset the unit to unlock it. Though you have to reprogram the time and date in it, that's not really that bad. The problem is sometimes the unit will become completely unresponsive. I now have to send my unit back to Creative to fix. After it's out of warranty, this will cost me a minimum of $25 just to look at it. I've checked the message boards on Creative's site, and also Googled this product...it is VERY common for these to lock up and become unresponsive...with NO fix but to send into the company for repair. To buy a reconditioned unit from Creative is half the cost of just sending the unit in to them for repair. Buyer beware...this unit is unreliable.

This is probably an okay product, unfortunately it "crashed" shortly after we uploaded songs and photo's on it. We were disappointed that the screen was so small. We also bought a Creative Zen 4GB MP3 video player, black and it was a perfect fit (we ordered another one after this one crashed). Any ways, it is hard to write a review because we were not able to use the product.

I purchased this product for a birthday gift for my 6 year old son. He absolutely loves it! He compares it to his 14 year old sisters ipod. His zen will play the radio, the nano ipod does not. His zen will hold 1000 songs and videos, just like the ipod. His favorite part of the zen is the big screen. He doesn't quite understand that his is actually a mp3 and not an ipod. Simply because it does everything the ipod does. The best part- its $200 cheaper but the quality is just as good!!!!!

I have dropped this mp3; down 3 flights of stairs (all at the same time), into a muddy puddle, off a second story porch and it bounced off the pavement into a kiddy pool. I have also put this thing through a washing machine, it has been attacked twice by a dog, and once by a hyper two year old, and not to mention dropped by me hundreds of times! And after all of those things that would of put normal mp3s into a scrap heap, my mp3 works perfectly fine, and the only negative results of all the torture I put this thing through, is just a few tiny scratches on the screen.

The Zen V Plus is a very good product. It's easy to use and I haven't had any technical problems with it yet. A few things-- like bookmarking-- are hard to figure out at first, but overall, it's a great buy. It is also very easy to download and rip songs onto the Zen, and it reads many different file types, which is helpful.

This player sounds great and is very small. It fits right into the palm of my son's hand. However, the earplugs broke within the first 2 weeks. The wire pulled away from the earplug. It still plays, but the wires dangle. So, we've replaced the earplugs. Overall good mp3 player.

This is the 2nd Zen V I have purchased for my husband as a gift. The first was a 1GB Zen V but something happend to the screen after about a year. What I like best is that this product is very easy to use. It is extremely easy to transfer music to and is quite small. My husband also says that the sound is great. He did however purchase new sound reducing earphones. Additionally the Zen V Plus has FM radio which is a great feature. This time I did purchase the additional warranty, just in case, which was a great deal as well.
I would recommend this product to someone who is looking for an easy to use mp3 player! Doesn't even require you to read the manual-just load the CD that comes with it and plug in the player--that easy!!!

when I got it i thought that it was not going to be all that cool because of the negative reviews that i read. but it turned out to be pretty nice. i got two of them downloading songs and videos were so easy. must love it.............. it was also very simple to operate.
