This humidifier is indeed quiet but is very hard to fill and the handle on the bottom is very hard to get off. I would not recommend this product.

Review 2 for Honeywell Quietcare Humidifier

make sure its what you want, 01/19/2008

I purchased this product to add some humidity on those cold dry winter days. The product was attractivly priced and the water capacity was good
(filling it less often). But when I began to use this product it made the room cold and drafty. beaware that cold mist humidifiers will make your room colder as I learned. I will be returning mine for the warm mist humidifier which Honeywell also makes.
I understand it is basically the same design (which I like) and only a few dollars more. I believe this will solve my problem. besises the cold air this is a well designed product, quiet and easy to use.

Review 3 for Honeywell Quietcare Humidifier

Good Humidifier, 01/10/2008

This is a good little humidifier, I guess I expected it to be a little bigger, but I should have just read the specs better. It has three fan settings and is relatively quiet, it sounds like a regular room fan. My only complaint is that the shape of the tank is an odd shape and does not enable you to just set it in the sink for filling, you have to hold it verticle to fill it up because the takn comes to a point on top. Very strange, but Oh well.

Review 4 for Honeywell Quietcare Humidifier

great humidifier - quiet, 01/05/2008

I recently purchased the Honeywell Quiet Care humidifier from Walmart on-line. It's wonderful! I'm using it in my office that measures an approx. 12x20 area. It's exceptionally quiet and there is no wet mist as is customary with other humidifiers I have used. With the fan on high and the humidity setting on high, it quickly increased the relative humidity to the desired rate. I would highly recommend this product.

Review 5 for Honeywell Quietcare Humidifier

Good but not Practical, 01/02/2008

Everything was great about this product, except, you can't place the water container down, while you fill it up with water because it doesn't have a stable flat surface. If you use distilled water, it's hard to hold the container while you pour from the gallon of water at the same time. All the other humidifiers I've used in the past, you were able to place it down on a table, while you poured water into it.

Review 6 for Honeywell Quietcare Humidifier

Humidfier filter, 12/30/2007

I have only ran the humidifier for approxiimately 1 week- I found it cumbersome to fill but that is true about most humidifier tanks and the direction of air flow to be ineffective. I left it off one night and the mist smelled the next time I used it- I found the source of the problem- mold on the filter. Trying to find a filter replacement at any Walmart store is impossible-they do not carry this filter. I should have looked into that before I purchased it but I assumed that the stock was depleted.

Review 7 for Honeywell Quietcare Humidifier

not very effective, 12/06/2007

i had this humidifier for about a month but finally returned it. first the pro's; pretty quiet, holds a fair amount of water. now the cons. the tank is awkward to fill since it is not flat, you have to find a way to balance, fill and put the lid on at the same time. 2nd; the air outlet blows out air horizontally, would make more sense to blow it upward. 3rd; it is in effect a swamp cooler so there can be mold issues, i didnt have mine long enough for that, but i did let the machine run out of water one night and it turned off like it was supposed to but when i restarted it the next morning the air smelled BAD!! it did finally go away after about a day though. overall it humidified the room it was in a little, nothing spectacular. after i returned it i got a warm mist unit. it works better then the swamp cooler one (cool mist). filters were also about $15 each online.

i recommend a warm mist unit for anyone wanting an effective humidifier.

Works well! When the fan is turned down low, I can run it upstairs by the bedroom all night. Very easy to fill either in a deep sink or a bath tub.
