I know there are some people that wave the controller violently, when playing games like this, but I'm not one of those people. I got near the end of this game, and I make sure that I'm being accurate with the controller, and it still didn't register my movements half the time, (I also checked my sensor bar). I quit, because my hand just couldn't take it anymore. They do have a new Nintendo Wii MotionPlus, but I don't know how much that would help, (they didn't have that out when I still had this game). I like it at first, but in the end I didn't.

the graphics are not that good, the game is fun but hard to follow the story line and some of the fight areas are really hard to read as the terrain is all the same. The score page makes no sence either. It's ok if you want to just shoot at your friend. The only reason for a decent rating is because I got it for 10 bucks in a package deal through walmart on line. There are way way better games.

This was a launch title (released when the Wii was released) so it wouldn't be perfect obviously. However, the motion controls work at times and sometimes they don't. Gunplay is fine as long as you understand how to keep your enemies in front of you and not going all around. Luckily, there is mostly gunplay in this game and a few sword fights spread around. Some of the bosses can be annoying but they all have patterns and with any game boss, once you figure out the pattern you can get past them. I admit the controls could be a little tighter across the board but then I remember that this was a launch title so it didn't really have anything else to look at as a good example. That said, the game does a really good job as a launch title in that as a player, you can get an understanding of what Ubisoft was trying to accomplish with this game. After completing this game, I can't wait for Red Steel 2 to be released. The game is somewhat difficult control-wise for the first few hours but beyond that you can handle yourself quite well. I also highly recommend you put the gun sensitivity up to the highest while playing.

As others have said, the sword fights aren't that great. But overall it's still a pretty good game and definitely worth $20.

I was looking for a cheap game for my new wii console that I got for my birthday. My mom wasn't too happy by the cover but overall I liked the game. The graphics are a little bad with a low-level gamecube game. It is sometimes hard to find specific things in the game like doors, switches, and keys because of graphics and always looking dark. Also, there were technical difficulties with sword fighting. Get a wireless nunchuck for this game! The major upsetting thing about this game is that I can't play other people online. The multiplayer for it is a lot like Halo's, but it needs more maps and customization of characters. That and acces to play online.

Hummm… well it’s a decent game, I think that in between levels and for the storyline that it should have been done a lot better, they did a sloppy job for that, but as for the shooting part and the controls for game play they did a good job, sword fighting could have use a lot of work to make it realistic and more fun, graphics are ok, all in all, its worth having and not since the price has gone down from 50 bucks to 30, yea it’s a good deal.

I'm not sure why this game has gotten bad reviews. I do agree that the sword fighting parts of the game aren't fantastic... but i think they are still fun and at least different from many shooters. I think this games is very fun.. and i really enjoy playing. It is still a bit pricey for having been out for since the Wii came out... but its still very fun and i think its worth owning. I'm glad i bought it.. for whatever thats worth. :)

Overall the game does lack a little. There are better games out there, but Red Steel does contain a pretty good single player mode and a fun split screen multiplayer. The swordplay aspect and the cutscenes are really the only places the game is lacking. The graphics are good and the gunplay is good, so the game is worth playing and owning.
