One of my favorite movies ever. I highly recommend it but for 13 and up. Younger children cannot understand the story.

Terrific song, music, and dance combinations! Hines and Baryshinikov had a great culmination of dramatic scenes and dances. Helen Mirren was impressive. The music and dance accentuated characters and moved the story/plot forward.
Taylor Hackford's director commentary was very insightful. It was good to know that behind-the-scenes the actors were authentic and natural.
No CGI or super-imposed special effects for the fight or dance sequences.
Good job!

I have absolutely loved this movie since the first time I saw it and have patiently waited 12 years for its release. Gregory Hines is a classic!! and Baryshnikov is always great!! If you are not a lover of performing arts then this is not the movie for you.
