Bought these to replace an older pair that didn't have the safety tip after my husband decided to use them to cut hair from the vacuum cleaner brush. (Which worked really well, by the way.) Yeah, I'm not using those for bandages anymore. I like these better for that purpose. We use these to cut bandages off my little girl's fingers to keep from pulling her skin. We've also used them to trim rolled edges of medical tape to make dressings last longer. These are an excellent addition to any home first aid kit. And my old ones have found new life around the house. The angle works for everything!
